the fielders just developed a case of butterfingers... why?

I just finished playing a rather odd game. It was Cin (CPU) vs SF (me), and for some reason, a lot of the fielders (both for me and the comp) were dropping balls thrown to them. These weren't errors though. I'd hit a single to the outfielder, and when the LF would throw the ball to the cutoff man (this was after I was safely on base) the cutoff man would just drop the ball. Or I would retreive an infield hit, and then when I throw to 1B, Niekro dropped the ball. It even happened a few times when I was just tossing the ball from base to base after all the runners were safe (just to see what would happen).

Now it's only the one game that this happened for, but I've played over a dozen games beforehand and this never happened. I expect to get some errors and wild throws, but these weren't in the course of play, it was after the play was dead.

The only thing I installed today was the Ultimate Roster update. Could that have caused this problem, or was what happened some sort of anomoly?

I've had the same problem a couple times, where every time a throw to first base is made, the first basemen's foot is off the bag, and the guy's safe. I don't know what it is, but just playing another game works out fine. I'm pretty sure a roster set had nothing to do with it.

Yeah maybe. I played another game afterwards as Toronto, and Overbay booted like 3 routine grounders. I doubted that the roster file had anything to do with it, it just seemed like an odd coincedence.

If you are using a datafile, it may have been adjusted to allow for more errors. So this may be the cause. Also it may be your slider settings regarding errors.
