Royal Blues
OK, this is my first attempt at cyberfaces. I know I have a lot of work to do, mainly in skin tone, as well as a couple other things. Thanks to Jogar for the very-easy-to-follow tutorial. Other than skin tone and the nose problem, how does it look so far? Any and all feedback is much appreciated. If I can get this one down, I plan on working on a couple other Royals and then go from there.
kgbaseball
I'm impressed for a first-timer. Keep it up! :)
thespungo
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Royal Blues, you are my hero. Once the skin problem is cleared up, that baby is gonna be ready to go! Finally the two of us can have great Royals cyberfaces in our game. Care to enlighten me as to the identity of the other players you are planning on modding? Maybe a Shane Costa or Zach Greinke, or ... gasp ... Justin Huber? I think i'm gonna take another look at the Jogar cyberface turorial and maybe join you in some Royal face makin'. SwinginSoriano
His face does look very dark
Royal Blues
I think I've got the skin tone about right. Now I just need to work on the blending and then darken his mole a little Spungo, I do plan on doing at least Greinke, and then Mientkiewicz, Sanders and Berroa. Right now, I'm just going to concentrate on players who aren't using generic faces, since I use Shmooz's model file and don't have any free cyberface numbers left. That's something I plan on working around later.
Pirate
That is a good looking face.
thespungo
Greinke and Mientkiewicz were tops on my list, after I finish my Shane Costa. As for the Sweeney face, it is coming together nicely. Although did you notice the skin tone on the arms doesn't match the face? Take a look at my Costa-in-Progress ... http://mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Forums&f...p=230190#230190
kgbaseball
Yeah his skin tone should be one hue darker, #2 possibly?
Royal Blues
I had to bump skin tone up to #4. I'm fairly happy with this...in other words, I couldn't get it to look any better Spungo, I might beat you to Grienke, but i'll work a couple others first Watch this space for more, and if they're all good enough, I'll upload a pack and send them to Shmooz as well. Royal Blues
Thanks for the kind words guys. Now here's Jeremy Affeldt, who slipped into the #4 spot in the Royals' rotation. I really like how this one turned out (and in the first try, no less). Feedback?
SephirothXIII
That Affeldt face looks really great, nice work.
thespungo
Affeldt looks pretty good, but the Sweeney face still looks to dark and lacking contrast. As for the Affeldt, I'd say re-size it to 2x (256x512) and up the contrast, which should give the face a little more dimension in the game. But hey, at this point I'm nitpicking ... anything you do oughtta make it's way into my game. And I finished up my Shane Costa. It'll look something like this --
Royal Blues
That Costa doesn't look bad at all. However, I'd wait until pressbox updates their portraits. This year's portrait of him is much better than that one and should be a lot easier to work with. In the meantime, here's my take on Greinke... thespungo
Is it just me, or does that cyberface and his default EA cyberface make Zach look like some sort of lizard? The narrow eyes, the pointy nose ... there's just somethin about that kid that makes his face look bad when converted into a video game. With that being said, your face is so much more smoother than his default cyberface. I'm really really glad you're doing these Royal cyberfaces ... And man, look at us, the only two Royal fans on this website, stayin' up 'till all hours of the morning working on Royals mods. How other fans must envy our dedication ... thespungo
Oh, and one last thing before bed. I had been working on Johnny Buck the past day, but I finally gave up today after searching searching searching searching and never finding the perfect head shape for him. So I photoshopped this picture of him and I thought maybe you'd wanna give it a try. Go for it if you want, I've given up on it --
Royal Blues
There's already a fairly decent Buck out there, but I'll take a look at it eventually. I've got four or five more I want to do before that though. As far as Greinke's concerned, look at the kid...he's kinda got a weird headshape/face as it is Now, here's a *very* rough Doug Mientkiewicz. Most of the work I need to do is blending. After that, I'm thinking I'll do a couple guys from other teams before I get back to the Royals.
Royal Blues
And here's Pudge Rodriguez. I know I need to fix the eyebrows, but it's 3:45 a.m. and I've gotta get up early to go to Opening Day, so I'll fix them tomorrow. Now the skin tone of his face is off, but the one thing in Photoshop I don't have a handle on is adjusting colors...can any of you gurus help me with that? Other than the brows and skin tone, how do he and Mientkiewicz look?
thespungo
All your cyberfaces look mad. I would suggest altering the eyebrows so they're not in a constant state of scowling.
Kriegz
The skin texture's are wierd, use parts from the EA faces.

thespungo
You gotta put the eye black on Meinkty, and do his long hair.
Royal Blues
If I can figure out Oedit, I will absolutely get his hair in there. As far as the eyeblack, the only problem is he'll have it on in night games too. I still may go ahead and do that anyway. I just love his new look with the half-goatee. I haven't given up on these yet. I just wound up getting a lot of extra hours at work the last couple weeks...didn't get to go to any of the White Sox series like I was planning. BTW, you're uni preview shots look really good. Do you have any ingame pics you can post in your thread? I'd been wanting to get into making the farm's unis as well.
