jhoff80
Yeah, can someone PLEASE convert all the changes in this mod into the xbox version and compile them all into one download? It would be greatly appreciated by many people I'm sure.

mrnovember
That's why PC'S still beat consoles guys! What? PCs are better because nobody is yet willing to do the conversion for Xbox? I don't think so...
jhoff80
I play many PC games, mostly FPS, but I think for the feel of a sports game, nothing beats sitting back in front of the TV instead of huddling in front of a 15" computer monitor.
Gagnon39
I play many PC games, mostly FPS, but I think for the feel of a sports game, nothing beats sitting back in front of the TV instead of huddling in front of a 15" computer monitor. I couldn't agree more. FPS's are better on the PC but I am having real problems getting into MVP on the PC. Its so much better on the XBOX, in my opinion. Also, I always hate when someone jumps in with something not ever related to the topic of the thread and throws in, "that's why the PC is better", bla bla bla. No one wants to hear that, its just your opinion. As for the XBOX conversion, I'm extremely interested and would gladly do whatever I could to make this happen. jhoff80
Okay, I just opened up the MLB 06 mod file, and it seems that MOST of the files (just by filename, I don't know if theres any internal checks) should be interchangable. However, the main problem will be any .fsh files, because the xbox uses .xsh files instead, and I don't think that you can just switch the extension on these. jhoff80
I tried just throwing the files into the Xbox game's folder, it didn't work.
capa
In order for the conversion to work, you have to: 1) Convert all uniform files 2) Convert all stadiums (you don't HAVE to, but they are included with the 06 mod) 3) take out all new cyberfaces (hundreds of these now) from the rosters (any not included with original game) and replace with generic faces 4) Convert team icons in game 5) Copy the roster .dat files to the data folder on your MODDED Xbox 6) copy the datafile.txt file to your Xbox data folder 7) convert all player portraits It's a HUGE undertaking to do the conversions. Some are faster than others, but it is still a huge effort to do the entire mod...which is why you don't see anyone doing it. C
jhoff80
Just out of curiosity, what is different about the files for the XBox and PC versions that prevents them from being compatible? I had assumed/ was hoping that EA was lazy and just used the same files for both, but after my little test yesterday, thats obviously not the case. (Although it'd have made it much easier if it was lol)
capa
I don't know the technical details but they used different file formats I guess in order to compress or "crisp" up the graphics. It all has to do with what internal graphical processor the Xbox uses vs pc ones I think. Text files are text files on any system, but graphics are platform, operating system, and graphical processor dependent. C
Timp
When/if the mod is converted, how would one get it to the Xbox? Do you need some sort of memory card? Sorry if this is a dumb question i'm new to this stuff.
jhoff80
No, you'd need a modded XBox.
