Think about it like this: Would you rather they released it a week ago? Would you rather they release the mod without checking for errors and such? If the modding team didn't check their work, people like this would be complaining about the errors in the mod and the things that don't work.

Why not? EA would have released it that way as they do with 90% of their sports titles. HA!! Touche'

j/k I'll wait as long as it takes. These guys do great work.

I don't see any problem with people asking for a progress report(as long as its not every day, ect), but complaining about it being not finished is a different story.

You don't? Well I do. When it is done it is done. Those guys don't need to see a new thread every day by some impatient ingrate demanding the mod to be released that very minute.

I think Y4L was inferring that the MVP 06 team doesn't have to give us a 'progress report' if they don't want to. It isn't like they don't want this thing released, it simply isn't ready yet. Again, we have a Beta, that's better than nothing.

That's exactly what I mean. Thank you.

Yes I did read it. And that's why I quoted SwinginSoriano's quote in my response. You don't need a progress report on this. I don't need a progress report on this. Those guys that are working on this mod have other things to do that is required of them like work, school and family.

impatient ingrate? i would like to call us curious, eager, or anything else alittle less insulting!!!!!

Nope, I'll stick with this if you don't mind. Why don't you go back and look in the forums and find all the different threads that are about "when is this going to be released." Different people demanding that they have this mod right away. It's not fair to see these threads for these modders to look at. So I'd rather have you people giving me heat for this comment instead of you guys bothering them about the release date of Mvp 06.

I look at it this way. It is a free product that someone is spending their own free time to create. They are not contracted to do so by anyone. No one is paying for, and the look on the front page almost no one has donated! I will as soon as my check card is working again. Anyways the mods are doing us a major favor here. So let them take all the time they need. They don't have to release it if they don't want to, they could just keep it for themselves. So everyone please stop asking and being rude. Just sit back relax and wait. Because when it is finally here it will be way worth it!!

Also maybe there should be a disclaimer at the top of the front page regarding the fact that the mod isn't out and that when it is everyone will know about it. Maybe that will help out with the questions every minute.

I didnt say they had to, Im just saying its a lot nicer than having somone complaining and bitching that its not released. Its just somthing Im used to from other sites its no big deal. For me it will be released when its released Im to busy to play it anyway so the wait will go by fast

Hey Peanut Gallery:

Start requesting your progress reports from MLB's Pressbox. The Modders, as I understand it, have nothing to do with the delay.

impatient ingrate? i would like to call us curious, eager, or anything else alittle less insulting!!!!!

And they would like to call you patient, understanding, and respectful, or anything a little less annoying!!!!!

Hey Mods. My first message. I did not want to start a thread. I just ordered my pc version of 2005, and dl the 5 official patches. I will be looking forward to your 06 MOD with insane excitement.

MVP 05 I had for xbox, traded all in for the 360. I kept my copy of MVP, but it is not backwards compatible, off to pc I go.

Anyway, long story short, thanks for all this hard work you guys are doing to improve the game and update everything. Is there a newb section that shows you where to dl your mod (file directories to extract to, etc )when u do release it? Thanks

There is a search function for the newbs :p but just remember these three things.

- Read the readme files!

- Your MVP 2005 is located in program files > EA Sports

- MVP 06 Beta, and the final will do all the dirty work for you. :D

Wow I think we should just merge all PC games forums into one big "Are we there yet" forum. Not condoning or slamming anyones behavior, but people being anxious, eager, annoying is just a way of life with video games. I play City of Heroes/Villains, and for anyone who doesn't know, they put out free issues (expansions/updates) every couple of months, and you guys need to check their boards to see how the development team is hounded with these type of threads. The amount of posts regarding this is 10 times greater than here...and the best part is, everyone knows the devs are completely non-responsive about issues like that! (not to mention the flame wars that erupt because other members get pissed seeing the boards littered with it) Once again, not saying whats right or wrong regarding this, but its something I think every message board has to deal with.

I dont think people realize that asking for it does not speed up its arrival time :)

Speaking of when this game is coming out, do you modders have a deadline for yourselves? I am getting my new computer soon and I have to purchase a new video card and I didn't have the money right now. So will you guys be another couple weeks before you get the 06 thing out? THat would be coolm then it would be amazing.

I personally give myself deadlines, but modders are in no way obliged to provide a deadline and release their work too early. Let the modders take their time and prepare to be impressed! :)

I don't mind waiting at all, I'm sure when its released it will be well worth the wait, have to realise the amount of time and effort it takes really make a big mod like this, can't be done overnight.

I would like to congratulate everyone here for all their strong effort it making this game continue on and becoming better then ever.

Thanks so much

Cheers, have a safe and happy easter!

I have to go with Beckster there.

I myself am totally pleased with the 06 Mod as it is already like a whole new game. Granted I've only played about 5 games, but I have not come across anything that needs to be added except a couple updated portraits (which is something anyone can pretty much do).

So for all you people that are sooooooo anxious for this, remember, it's something that is being done for us, the users, with no modding ability at all, for free. The modders are not obligated to release the mod at a certain point. It will be done when it's done. And if you can't wait, why don't you try to mod the game yourself? That way you will understand everything these guys are going through.

I was a little shocked at some of the blatant attitudes of those seemingly "demanding" a deadline or time when the final version of the mod comes out, then I thought about it. Frankly, there are a lot of people that just have no class. It's like you had a country, and you had rules for it. And then over time, people started sneaking in illegally, and THEN, had the nerve to DEMAND they don't have to become legal to participate in the benefits of it, yet taking from the system the whole time!

It's the same with these people demanding a release. They don't pay, they don't donate, they don't contribute with mods, they don't contribute with intelligent posts, they simply DEMAND. Life is about what THEY can get, not what they can contribute.

And here's the kicker: THEY DON'T CARE WHAT WE THINK ABOUT THEM OR THEIR SELFISH DEMANDS.

Well, I'll say this. When you respect this community and its modders and administrators, and give them some common courtesy and treat them with dignity, you will be surprised at how generous and just plain nice they are. I've had a PM with Trues in which I requested (respectfully and without an inkling of a deadline) a specific overlay, and he respoded immediately and positively. Very class act, Trues is.

Sorry to ramble, but I do get sick of these takers and demanders, and just a total lack of respect, for something that is basically free for them.

My total respect to all you modders and admins who make this site so great, so fun and make the game playable. Without this site, I would not even play the game. Thank you very much. I don't post much, because I don't want to add to the clutter, but this just frayed my last nerve.

Personally I've become immune to demands and how people look at modders as a whole. What if the MVP06 team kept the whole project a beta and the actual "final" version was the beta released earlier?

Thank you for your very good post lautrec. The nice thing about this place is that most of the people do exactly what you talked about in your post. It's the small percentage of people that make this kind of thread that these modders don't care for nor do the staff here.

My God, the stuff you can get on this site is really amazing if you stop and think about it. You can come in here with a store purchased copy of Mvp 05 and after you get done with the stadium mods, cyberfaces, rosters, uniforms for the present day and the past, etc, etc, you have yourself a brand new game. But these people forget that. They download one mod and when they are done with that, they want the next one right now. And it does not work that way.

Trust me to say I have no patience for this kind of person on this website.

I mod for the enjoyment of fixing EA's mistakes and seeing something I made in a video game. I don't get paid for what I do. I don't hold to deadlines hard and fast (because this isn't the real world, despite what some people may think). I care about the accuracy and quality of my work.

Sometimes, I take pestering to heart because of the relative ignorance of the people who request certain things and their lack of patience when something isn't done quite soon enough. I take criticism and gratitude into account when doing my work.
