D-Unit
Damn, this thing is getting annoying as hell. I figured out the problem, which is: When I go to export the .dat files to the folder which contains the importer with MVPEdit, the files just plain don't show up. What the hell is going on? I hit export, .dat files, then I double-click the folder, and hit OK. then I say OK to overwrite, and MVPEdit will say "save complete" as if it successfully exported, but nothing shows up in the folder... PLEASE HELP! EDIT: Sorry, just realized this is bumping....I just pwned myself lol
JuUaAn
Sorry guys I didn't want to read 30+ pages of stuff. I just have one quick question about this tool. Great tool by the way...very cool stuff My question is I just want to change a cyberface number in my dynasty. I'm not going to use MVPEdit to do that. So I load up my dynasty, minimize and run the exporter. The dat files get exported and I modify attrib.dat ONLY. Then I run the importer and then I save my dynasty. This is all I have to do right? Now, seeing that I only want to modify the attrib.dat, I don't really want to import the other dat files. I just want to know if it's safe importing all the other dats and there are no bugs and won't affect my dynasty in any shape or form. It's just a simple change of a number in the attrib.dat file. Everything should be ok right? No messed up stats or anything right? Thanks. EDIT: I'm using notepad to edit the number btw.

Ok I just did a search for roster.dat and I don't think anyone has mentioned this problem yet. Here's what happened. 1. I have a dynasty in progress and I load it, and run the exporter. 2. I make a change to a cyberface number in attrib.dat and then run the importer 3. I go back to the game and save my dynasty and quit. 4. I load my dynasty again and then run the exporter in another directory. 5. After exporting the dats to another directory, I compare the two versions of the dats that I exported. RESULTS: I noticed that attrib.dat is different (because I changed it), but I also notice that there are many differences in roster.dat. It seems that upon importing, many RFs became benched and the catchers became RFs. It seems like upon importing, the roster.dat file gets changed somehow. So specifically for my team, B.J Ryan was put in RF in place of Rios. This is really weird behaviour. Just letting you guys know to beware of this. Has anyone seen this or know of a workaround? tywiggins
Here's a version of the importer that only imports the current year stats and the career stats.
wolfy6finger
OK, first off, great program, but one thing. I was testing it, especially the stats editing. When I exported, edited the a players stats for a created batter (bstats, cy-bstats (all cy's), career, etc.), then imported. All my changes worked excpet for one. If I go to my Dynasty, the Statistics, then Career Stats for that player. It shows the Total MLB, but not the previous year correctly (ie 2005 in this case). For example, see below image http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2381/careerfb8.png How do I correct "2005" to make it equal Career? (which was his 2005 numbers) Which dat file to I edit. Thanks in Advance Any help on this? I should of added the numbers show up correct if I was just looking at the the team statictics page. For some reason, it doesn't show the correct numbers under the "2005" on the CAREER Page. Thanks

catzrthecoolest
When I import files into MVP, it seems that all the pitchers have incredibly wrong stats (that weren't there in the first place), like some having 144% stamina and the like... Also, once or twice I have ended up with a bunch of players named "Default Default"....
evil1182
What file do I need to edit to take someone off the disabled list?? I remember I did it last year, but I can't seem to remember. EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. EDIT: I guess not, now it crashes when I'm at bat, I don't know what to edit in the roster.dat, could someone put me in the right direction. Mav3rek
i'm having an issue getting the .dat importer/exporter to change my managers cyberface in my dynasty. the other changes I made worked, but the managers name, #, and cyberface all stay the same. any clues? Mav3rek
Since I'm sure it will be asked, here's the exact order I'm doing everything in: 1)start mvp 2)load my owner mode dynasty 3)alt-tab back to windows xp 4)run the exporter 5)run mvpedit 6)import the .dat files from the .dat exporter/importer directory 7)make my changes to the manager 8)export the .dat files to the .dat exporter/importer directory 9)run the importer 10)go back to my game I believe this is the right way to do this. I made a change to a players jersey number, and it worked no problem and it was changed in the game. But when I make the changed to my manager, mvpedit says success at the bottom, but the changes never reflect in mvp baseball. The directories are correct, I've double checked them. I've even tried selecting yes for the '04 face for the manager but it still shows the default #902 in the game.
redsox
I think your problem is that you are editing things in MVPEdit with the game running. Export the .DAT files and then exit out of the game. Then use MVPEdit to make your changes. Run you game, get into your dynasty and then use the import feature. I think that should fix your problem. Hope that helps. Another method I would suggest is to edit the .DAT file itself that deals with the manager cyberface numbers. Try skipping the MVPEdit step and see if the changes take effect. I am not sure as to what file you would open to change the manager number since I am not at my desktop right now.
Mav3rek
thanks for the tip. I was in the middle of doing the export process when the electric went out in my house and my pc went off. Now my dynasty seems to be corrupted just a little bit...lol... no worries though. I can fix the problem by starting a new dynasty and his face will already be there. Thanks for the help though. redsox
How do I use the importer/exporter with MVPeditor? How do I import the exported files into MVPeditor. I don't see an option for it. You don't import the .DAT files into MVPEditor. You import them into MVPEdit.

Tom0781
hey everyone.. I'm running a phillies dynasty. I love the idea of being able to actually "edit" the dynasty rosters. But unfortunetly I now have a mess with the lineups in gameplay itself. My rosters are now listing pitchers in RF, during gameplay, the RF will just stand there, not attempt to field the ball. Its random, but usually happens right away. i've exported them into the .dat importer/exporter then into MVPedit, done my editing, restarting MVP05, then importing the edit rosters using the 2005importer. Once into my dynasty lineups, I have pitchers as RF's and my lineups are all showing errors, 130 some warnings in MVP edit. So i tried to just correct the 130 some lineups manually in MVPedit, long time to do... Same thing, players listed twice in batting lineups, the pitchers are the RF's.... I dont know what to do, my game isnt playable to a level of competion with the RF just standing there on defense. (the opponents) Does this mean anything to anyone here? VTek33
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but after importing the dat. files I'm not seeing any changes in my career stats. Do I have to export what I changed in MVPedit to data/database too?
dgutierrez32
Which one of the dat files (if any) lists the players' cyberface number?
redsox
First if you don't have .NET Framework installed, install it first. .NET Framework 2.0 1. Run MVP Baseball 2005 on your computer. 2. Load a saved game or start a new dynasty. 3. Hold Control, then press Escape 4. Run my MVP2005Exporter program to export the .dat files into the current directory. 5. Edit the .dat files with notepad.(Or MVPEdit if you include a copy of the missing .dat files from the EASPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder) 6. Run my MVP2005Importer program to import the edited .dat files(They need to be in the same directory as the MVP2005Importer program) 7. Any changes you make should be reflected in the game. Wondering if someone could shed some light on this. If my face IDs in my dynasty do not match the ones in the database folder, would that cause any problems? The thing is I completely redid my models.big during a dynasty and the face IDs I changed were on a roster set that was about 3/4ths done with the 2005 season. I think my problem could be attributed to the missing .DAT files that Ty mentions. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Kelvarr
I gave up trying this importer/exporter a long time ago. Every time I try it, I end up with some guy on my roster with the name "Default, Default", and 50 in every stat. Often, he replaces somebody, such as Jim Thome in my White Sox dynasty. The stats only importer/exporter works correctly though.
