Uniform Modding

Before I get lampooned for "not searching" through the forums, I'd like to let you all know that I've spent an ample amount of time trying to find answers to my questions and I am lost.

I am new to EA Sports PC games, so I am unfamilar with editing the files. I just got MVP 2005 about a week ago.

I would like to edit the Atlanta Braves uniforms. I'm old school when it comes to baseball, so I'd like to remove the last name from their uniforms. Also, I would like to have some alternate socks, with horizontal stripes.

I think I can just edit the default home and away uniforms to remove the last names. Then, I think I will have to add alternate uniforms for the different socks.

After searching through the forums, it looks like there are a lot of programs that I'll need to use. It also looks like if I am not careful, I could really screw something up.

Please advise me on the programs I will need and what I will need to do. A step by step process would be nice, if it is at all possible. Thank you.

I have the tools, I'm just :dumb: when it comes to using these tools :(

Well, if you open up the models.big with EA Graphic editor and export a uniform.fsh into a location of your chosing (I would put it into where you got your nfshtool located.)

Then take that uniform.fsh and drag and drop it onto Nfshtool and it will create a folder with all the uniform parts thats inside the uniform.fsh.

Then open up KC's template with photoshop, create your uniform and just save it as a 24 bit bmp and save as the same part thats in the folder nfshtool created.

Now note, KC's templates are in 2x format so if you save them as 2x, inside the folder Nfshtool created there is an "index" file witch you will have too open up with notepad and change the uniform part line.

Example:

The uniforms in MVP are sized at 128x128. Now KC's is sized at 256x256.

So in the index, just say the JERF is 0008.bmp, well go too the line where 0008.bmp is and change the size from 128x128 too 256x256.

Or when you make the uniforms you can just merge all layers and resize them down too 128x128 but they wont be as sharp.

I hoped this helped you guys and GL in the modding business.

I'm not so :dumb: anymore! Thanks Thome. I tested out my skills and I meesed up on the catchers mask, it came out white instead of transparent. Am I suppose to recolor to white into black?
