Totte
You'd probably have to wait if you don't want to mess anything up.
shugknight
Can i ask what u mean by messing things up? I have mvp06 installed, with a few other mods, and as of right now im contemplating on whether or not to just start my season. i guess i can wait for the final version to come out, but at the same time im just anxious to get it started. brtalley
as far as messing up...i'm concerned with stuff like models.big and stuff like that. is that allowed to change during a dynasty? i know the rosters arent, i;m okay with that...i just wasnt sure about anything else. UncleMo
resign.csv file will update. You can use the uniform.big file too brtalley.
Totte
As UncleMo said, the resign.csv will be updated and that affects all the Free Agents signings in dynasties. Same goes for the progression mod we've added.
goosejnr
I'll wait for the final version to come out. I'm keepin my eye in by hitting in the home run challenges! Does anyone know when the final version is to be released?
maxbjr
brtalley just do what I did, I started my dynasty on April 1st with whatever was the most current roster availlable, (UR 5.2 I think). When MVP 06 goes final, I'll restart with that. Meanwhile I get to test all of the downloads I think I might want under game conditions plus I get some good batting and pitching practice in :)

Totte
Can anyone give us an update on the final release? We are all anxiously waiting. I'm a part of the modding group and even I don't know when it'll be released. Can we make a deal? You guys stop asking whenever the mod is going to be released and I'll make sure to tell you as soon as I know the release date? I'm sorry but I'm gettin tired of answering the same question over and over again...
NJPapi1977
i am a bit confused here... i downloaded the beta version and started my dynasty already and i really don't want to start it up again when the final version comes out.. I have read on this board that you can download the final version and still continue the dynasty and others have said you can't due to the player progression file being updated.... But then others have said that they play around with that file and they can still continue their dynasties without restarting them... Can someone give me a definitive answer to this cuz i dont want to continue playing my games if i will have to start again...

Ok, here's how I see it: In resign.csv (which controls how many players become FAs during the off-season) there's no connection to player names, specific teams, or such. All it contains is information on how players with a certain age are treated in terms of getting a new contract or not. Unlike all the .dat files in the database folder, it has nothing to do with team rosters or player attributes. Therefore, changing the values listed in resign.csv will not ruin an already started dynasty. It will just alter the CPU's calculations when it comes to re-signing players during the off-season. Progress.big (which mainly governs the progression of players after Spring Traininig) shouldn't pose a problem either, as this file too only controls how players of a certain age will develop over the years. Again, there are no references to specific rosters, or player names, etc. I can only speak for myself, but so far I haven't had any problems at all resuming my dynasty after having modified either of these two files. I just hope that when the final version drops i can just overrwrite the files that are old with the new ones and still continue my dynasty... I mean i dont really pay much mind to dynasty stuff like free agency and progression cuz i just like to play a season of 162 games... But thanx for the info man.. I will continue my dynasty

I will continue my dynasty I don't think the issue lies in the resign and progression mods, but the models.big. When you install the final version of the 06 mod, it will have a new models.big, but the dynasty you are using now will be using the previous models.big included with the Beta. Am I wrong, here, thinking this will cause his dynasty to crash? Pat
xiberger
You're right, Pat. Using a new models.big (and portrait.big as well) can cause crahes with old savegames, due to changes in the assignment of cyberfaces. However, since I assume that the 06 mod will have all the cyberface slots filled, crashing wouldn't be an issue anymore. The only thing that might happen is that a player ends up with a wrong cyberface. But thanks to tywiggins and his dynasty editor (w.i.p.), even those problems might be solved easily in the nearer future.

So all that would happen, if all cyberslots were filled, would be incorrect cyberfaces? Then I guess I don't understand why the most recent UR or SS rosters need the most recent models.big file, unless not all CF slots are filled. I don't know, maybe I'm making it more complicted than it is. Let me ask you something, in my dynasty I'm using Swinging Soriano's roster that is 2 versions ago. I would like to install the latest BigSchmooz Umachines uniforms models.big to upgrade my 1x uni's. With the models.big being more recent, that wouldn't cause a problem with my current dynasty? Thanks, Pat

Then I guess I don't understand why the most recent UR or SS rosters need the most recent models.big file, unless not all CF slots are filled. Well, some rosters don't use modded cyberfaces, but some do. If you install a roster that has got a bunch of modded cyberfaces included, you'll need a matching models.big. Easy as that... Since I'm not familiar with SS's work, I advise you to ask him about this. Again, if you're using modded cyberfaces in your dynasty, you have to make sure that your models.big contains the specific files. Otherwise your game will crash. Sizemore
LOL........so none of us dynasty guys are sitting pretty right now. I think we all should just delete our stuff, and wait for the final release. That way we all know what is in our dynastys, and we can all have an idea who is where..................lol I know I am not playing another game till the new release, I thought I had the new release, turns out it was new, just not the whole thing............. anyway, gonna wait for the new one............AND NO SUPPA TILL YA DONE! ! ! 8)
NJPapi1977
well i feel that i can still play my dynasty cuz the final version will not crash my dynasty... i have heard from a few here that you can continue your dynasty and still load the fianl version and continue.. Nobody knows how long before the final version will come out and i have the urge to play already so i will use the beta which is awsome and just upload the new mvp06 when it drops.. pfalvey
I guess you can look at it this way, you may as well keep playing your dynasty, otherwise your not playing or your playing meaningless exhibition games. It's a good opportunity to play with the Total Classics mod, which is an excellent mod. Pat
