MVP Edit Newbie Question

This may be a stupid question, but I've never used MVP Edit before and I can't figure out how to import my roster into the program. It's looking for a file with an *.mbe extension. Am I supposed to convert my data file somehow? Is there a how-to somewhere that explains how to use MVP Edit?

I tried searching the Forum but everything I found dealt with editing the rosters after they were already imported.

Import the "database" folder from your program files > Ea Sports > MVP 2005 > Data.

Or, download my rosters or UR and you'll get a .mbe. :)

I downloaded your roster and I see the .mbe files, but when I try to import any of them, they don't show up in the save window.

You don't import existing .mbe files, you open them.

Now that I have downloaded a roster set and made a few changes to the .mbe file with MVP Edit, how do I get that roster with the changes into the game so I can start a Dynasty? I saved the changes then I tried exporting to the data folder but none of the changes appeared in the game. The rosters were the same as before I made any changes. I checked the .mbe file back in MVP Edit to make sure that I saved the changes and they were still there so I did save them.

Go into your roster management options. Reset the rosters and your changes should take effect.

Actually, I think your supposed to export to the datadatabase folder.

I'm sorry to be a pain. I tried resetting the rosters but that didn't work.

These are the steps that I took:

1) Put .mbe file in MVP Edit folder

2) Edit .mbe file

3) Save .mbe file in MVP file

4) Export rosters to data folder in MVP `05 ( I also tried exporting to database folder)

5) Open MVP `05 & reset rosters

I think these are the right steps but the rosters aren't showing my edits.

I tried that too, that's why I can't figure out why the roster changes aren't showing up in the game.
