sunster13
I don't know if this has been asked before, sorry if it has. I have a Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad. Whenever I have a guy on 1st base, and hit a ground bll, my guy doesn't automatically run to second. Instead, he just stays there. If I click go to second once I hit it, there is a delay because he was on his way back to first from his lead off position. Also, if I hit a ground ball, my guy going to first will just slow down before he gets there, he wont take that big jump automatically. My friend, has the same controllers, and his guys do all that. Another thing I would point out, is that my friend uses the button layout as if it was a diamond (positioning of the buttons). I just simply use btn 1-st, btn 2-2nd, and so on. If he uses his layout at my house, his guys will automatically try to steal. Any help?
PolishJoe
I did a "Google" search for the Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumblepad and it seems two different controllers came up. :? Sorry, but I'm not too sure which is the one you're referring to. Which is the one you're talking about: A. B.
statelizard
I can't help, with this but I have also been experiencing the same problem and have yet to find a solution. Personally my controller is the on shown in picture A by Polish.

PolishJoe
Hmm... I had a closer look and the controller in photo A seems to have 4 buttons in the center - directly above the analog sticks. I can see that one says "9" and another "10", but what are the other two below that?
PolishJoe
Mine's B. Sunster, on your controller, does it have L1 and L2 as well as R1 and R2? Sorry but I can't seem to tell from the photos I've seen. :?
statelizard
the buttons below the 9 and 10 are for enabling/disabling vibration ( the button on the right) and for changing the mode (the button on the left). also here is my controller config if that helps at all profile= Logitech_Cordless_RumblePad_2_USB device= Logitech_Cordless_RumblePad_2_USB player= 1 number_of_buttons= 12 number_of_povs= 1 number_of_axis= 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= button 10 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= button 9 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= button 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CIRCLE= button 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= button 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= button 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= button 5 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= button 6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= button 7 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= button 8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= button 11 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= button 12 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= pov0 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= pov180 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= pov270 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= pov90 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= axis+ 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= axis- 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 4 VPAD_PITCH_1= button 2 VPAD_PITCH_2= button 3 VPAD_PITCH_3= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_4= button 4 VPAD_PITCH_5= button 6 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_OUT= button 2 VPAD_THROW_BALL= not_assigned -1 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= button 12 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= button 11 VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= button 11 VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= button 2 VPAD_SWING_BUNT= button 12 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= button 5 VPAD_FIELD_RELAY_THROW= button 8 VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= button 8 VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= button 6 VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= button 3 VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= button 4 VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= button 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= pov90 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= pov0 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= pov270 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= pov180 1 VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= button 5 VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= button
PolishJoe
StateLizard, your config does certainly help! Okay, try this.... First, be certain that your controller is in "Analog" mode - meaning you can use your joysticks/ analog sticks. - Open MVP - Go to "My MVP" - Go to "My MVP Options" - Select "Controller Config." Be sure your controller is selected under Player 1 Profile, e.g. Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 USB - Choose to "Load Profile" - From the list, select the 6th option down - Logitech 12 1 4 - Choose "Accept" - Choose "Save" Once you've done this, fire up an Exhibition game. Your problems should probably still be there but just be sure you can use the controller. In other words, use button "2" to swing, etc. Finally, after you're sure that you controller technically functions within the game under the new profile, exit MVP. If you don't mind, could you then re-post your config file with the controller selection again?
statelizard
OK, well I played the sim game for awhile and it seems that the baserunning problem isn't happening anymore, however from time to time it works like it should and then sometimes it will go games with working correctly, which is frustrating as all get out. Anyway here's the new config, but it reads exactly the same as the other one. GridironGrace
Since we are on the Topic here: I have the Reciol Controller from walmart for 14 Bux lol. I fixed my Pitch out problem by manully changing the buttons for a pitchout in Dreamweaver. However On Base Running to slide head first STRAIGHT i have to hit LEFT on teh L Analog. Straight Feet first is RIGHT. To slide to the RIGHT of the Base HEADFIRST its L Analog Left/up Seems my L analog Angles are messed up......any suggestions? or should i just play with the DEGREE of Angle of UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT on the analog? Pitching is fine btw.. tell it to go up he throws up etc.

Could you zip your controller.config file, (My DocumentsMVP Baseball 2005 ), and upload it here to this post? Also, when you said that you have to hit incorrect directions to slide, etc., did you mean to say the RIGHT analog stick? I'm not being a smart-a$$, I'm just making sure I understand correctly. - Thanks EDIT: I think we just posted at the same time - ignore that last question.

I could be wrong on this, but it sounds like this isn't an in-game issue like GG's is. I'm leaning towards thinking that Logitech's controller is 100% at fault - not the game. But, to try and address this, assuming you're running WinXP, try this: - Remove your controller - Open Add/Remove Programs - Unistall any Logitech Controller Software, (if any) - Download the latest version of Wingman Drivers here - Download the newest version of DirectX here - Install the controller software and then Direct X. - Reboot your system - even if you're not prompted to do so - Plug in your controller - Fire the game up and check it out Note: Like GG's controller, according to your config file, it looks like your right analog stick is incorrect. For the moment, that's more of a secondary issue. Right now, we need to try to get this to work properly. Post back if you can with your resutls. - Good Luck EDIT: Crap, I should add: I'm not too sure if your controller allows you to enable/disable analog mode like a PlayStation2 controller does. If you have this option, make sure it's enabled.

PolishJoe
I switched profiles in the controller config menu, and it all works now. Thanks man. Sweet! GG, looking over your config file, I have a question: Referring to the four buttons on the right face of the controller, (The square, X, circle, and triangle on a PS2 controller), which button is which? In other words, where the Square button would be if it were a PS2 controller, is that button 1? Is the "triangle" button button 4?

PolishJoe
GG, My friend's button layout is identicle to yours, (Triangle = 1, Circle = 2,....), but our configurations are different. :? I've included the one I made for him. I think the only main differences are the intentional hbp's, fake throws in a rundown, and some small things. I'm 99.9% sure that the controls in this file are identical to the layout for MVP 2005 for the PS2. But, I could be wrong. Regardless, you're more than welcome to download the attached config file. If you don't, I certainly won't be offended, man. I just have it on my PC because of my friend having the same controller as you. Either way, man, Good Luck! PolishJoe
Yeppa, yeppa. All the controls are correct - I think :? - so that they coincide with PS2's MVP 2005 controller layout. But, like you said, if you're used to what you have, why change, you know? . If you never use my Recoil Configuration, no biggie. If you do use it, awesome!
