ViPeRx007
I can't seem to get rid of the choppiness in MVP2004, especially when throwing in the infield. Hitting and everything else seem to run fine but throwing the ball in the infield looks like i'm throwing a string of 4 balls to first base. I'm running a P4 2.8 Ghz cpu with a Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card...also have 1 G of RAM. I've tried tuning my monitor refresh rate down, that doesn't do anything, I'm thinking I just have to find the right settings in my graphics card but I haven't found them yet. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
Dead_Monkey_Z
Try maxing the AA and AF on your graphic card. It seems to work for some.
ViPeRx007
I'll give it a try and let you know what it does for me.
NickD
You need to do a bunch of things unfortunatley. I have the same card and just over a gig of ram. Put Aliasing at 6x and the next Anistropic at 16x. Make sure everything is at the highest quality level and put Vsync all the way full. Also go to the display tab and click on your monitor. Turn refresh rate override to 'Disabled'. Turn off Alternate DVI operational mode under the options tab. Also put your monitor on 60mhz refresh. But most importantly of all you need to change your datafile so it follows the ball and not the ball shadow, like Rod showed us. You could just download RRodkey's datafile 7 but don't expect to manually field without the values below or you can use the code below in your own datafile: it's Rod's 7 cams to stop 97% of all stuttering and it's been modified by boricua from the HH boards to be manually fielding-friendly. And if you don't know how to edit the datafile learn here Zoom 0xf8876c73 111<FieldingView1>;0 0;109 0;110 0;1 1;2 1;3 0;4 1;5 ;6 ;7 ;8 0;9 1;10 ;11 Ball;12 1;13 0.900;14 0.000;15 25.000;16 500.000;17 0.00;18 1.00;19 0.00;20 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;21 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;22 0.000;23 2#0.000000e+000,8.200000e-001,3.142858e-002#3.141593e+000,9.500000e-001,0.000000e+000#;24 ;25 112.10;26 1;27 30.000;28 300.000;29 500.000;30 3.141;31 0.130;32 0.300;33 ;34 ;35 Ball Shadow;36 Waist;37 ;38 bpposAway1;39 0.000;40 0.000;41 400.000;42 ;43 Ball;44 Waist;45 0.00;46 ;47 1;48 100.00;49 10.00;50 ;51 0.140;52 0.000;53 0.000;54 1;55 Pitch#Heading#Roll;56 Pitch#Heading#Roll;57 ;58 0.880;59 0.700;60 0.900;61 0.940;62 ;63 38.70;64 0;65 1;66 3.00;67 40.00;68 0.000;69 FOV;70 FOV;71 ;72 1;73 Ball;74 100;75 30.000;76 1;77 600;78 60.000;79 1;80 ;81 1;82 0.980;83 0.970;84 ;85 ;86 Default;87 8.0;88 1;89 0;90 20.000;91 5.000;92 90.000;93 0.900;94 0.300;95 0.0;96 0.82;97 -0.12;98 2.0;99 1;100 0.00;101 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;102 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;103 0.0;104 0.67;105 0;106 0;107 1;108 ; Broadcast 0xf8876c74 110<FieldingView2>;0 0;109 0;110 0;1 1;2 1;3 0;4 1;5 ;6 ;7 ;8 0;9 1;10 ;11 Hit Vector;12 1;13 0.500;14 30.000;15 30.000;16 400.000;17 0.00;18 8.00;19 2.00;20 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;21 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;22 0.500;23 2#0.000000e+000,0.000000e+000,0.000000e+000#3.141593e+000,0.000000e+000,0.000000e+000#;24 ;25 75.00;26 0;27 0.000;28 0.000;29 10.000;30 3.140;31 0.000;32 0.500;33 ;34 ;35 Ball Shadow;36 Feet;37 ;38 bpposAway1;39 0.000;40 -10.000;41 120.000;42 ;43 Ball;44 Feet;45 0.08;46 ;47 1;48 150.00;49 120.00;50 ;51 0.140;52 0.000;53 0.000;54 1;55 Pitch#Heading#Roll;56 Pitch#Heading#Roll;57 ;58 0.500;59 0.900;60 0.500;61 0.900;62 ;63 38.00;64 1;65 0;66 3.00;67 60.00;68 0.000;69 FOV;70 FOV;71 ;72 0;73 Actor1;74 0;75 1.000;76 0;77 0;78 1.000;79 0;80 ;81 0;82 0.500;83 0.500;84 ;89 0;85 ;86 Default;87 8.0;90 1.000;88 0;91 45.000;92 45.000;94 0.300;95 0.0;96 0.82;97 -0.12;98 2.0;99 1;100 0.00;101 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;102 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;103 0.0;104 0.67;105 0;106 0;107 1;108 ; Aerial 0xf8876c75 103<FieldingView3>;0 0;1 1;89 0;2 1;3 0;4 1;85 ;86 Default;87 8.0;5 ;6 ;7 ;8 0;9 1;10 ;11 Hit Vector;12 1;13 0.900;14 0.000;15 20.000;16 300.000;17 0.00;18 1.00;19 -8.00;20 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;21 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;22 0.000;23 2#0.000000e+000,8.200000e-001,3.142858e-002#3.141593e+000,9.500000e-001,0.000000e+000#;24 ;25 112.10;26 1;27 30.000;28 150.000;29 300.000;30 3.141;31 0.250;32 0.300;33 ;34 ;35 Ball Shadow;36 Waist;37 ;38 bpposAway1;39 4.000;40 0.000;41 400.000;42 ;43 Ball;44 Waist;45 0.00;46 ;47 1;48 100.00;49 10.00;50 ;51 0.140;52 0.000;53 0.000;54 1;55 Pitch#Heading#Roll;56 Pitch#Heading#Roll;57 ;58 0.900;59 0.700;60 0.900;61 0.900;62 ;63 80.00;64 0;68 0.00;69 FOV;70 FOV;71 ;72 1;73 Ball;74 100;77 500;90 20.000;88 0;80 ;81 0;82 0.990;83 0.980;84 ;65 0;91 60.000;92 90.000;93 0.900;94 0.300;95 0.0;96 0.82;97 -0.12;98 2.0;99 1;100 0.00;101 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;102 OffsetX#OffsetY#OffsetZ;103 0.0;104 0.67;105 0;106 0;107 1;108 ; Good luck. JaFFiTh
It could be the 2x uniforms, i've had lot of problems with that but UMachine's 2x uniforms works great 'casue it's like half size as what the other 2x uniforms are. But if it was already like that before u got the 2x uniforms, then well..i can't help you there heh.

rcrawford
Thanks! Rodkey7 fixed the stuttering problem I'd been having with NVidia GeForce 5700 Fx Ultra (I posted about this awhile back). Since I use assisted fielding on my manual games, it works great. Just curious if I should now reset my gameplay sliders back to zero.
NickD
It's not necessary to put them back to zero. The gameplay is tweaked in the datafile and can be tweaked further by the sliders. Everybody has different tastes so leaving them all on zeros is probably a rarity with most. My sliders are all over the place and I use Rod's DF 7 too. Also if anybody's reading this and wants even more ideas then try Directx 9.0c and the newest catalyst drivers with your radeon card. It helped the tiny bit of stuttering that I had left after I had done all the above in my first post. I'm 99% stutter free now. I think I can live with it now. rcrawford
Where would I go to find slider suggestions for RodKey7? Thanks in advance. I was using the ones suggested in the GameFaq site.
Dead_Monkey_Z
Sliders are always going to be different depending on the ability of the player. My sliders are nothing like they were when I first started playing the game. I was using the ones suggested in the GameFaq site. What problems are you having with them? Too many/not enough hits? Singles that should be doubles?
