witz96
First of all, I think the mod is awsome and all the time and effort taken to put this together is fantastic. Thoughts on the mod.... I was playing as Pro and won 10 in a row so I moved up to MVP. WOW.. what a difference. The pitching meter is right on target.. even though I am a little slow on the draw most of the time. The better pitchers have a bigger meter, just like it should be. The CPU walks batters alot so I have had to learn patients. I am normally a free swinger and learning patients is tough..lol..the CPU hits a ton a home runs so I had to move it down in the tuning and move up the USER part because I am not hitting any.. The face pact and .dat file is great.. more throwing errors.. more steals.. I am playing as the ANAHEIM ANGELS.. not LA Angels.. lol... and my starters went 8 innings each in the last 2 games.. but my bullpen got destroyed.. the games require more stratagy now on my part..ie..lefty/lefty matchups and so on. I just wanted to say thanks agains for all the effort. Mike
sw3despills
I play on All-Pro (not as good as you) and used some sliders (I printed them off but it cut his username out, he joined on march 7th and had 147 posts then and has a red circular avatar) and I'm 5-5 in my Red Sox season. I'm finding pitching harder, learning to be patient (actually seeing the ball come out of the pitchers hand and telling myself not to swing) and having a blast
witz96
I have played about 25 games and I have 2 homeruns.. Since I am playing on ALL-STAR I understand it is more difficult.. But still.. anyone have any advise.. ie.. setting in the tuning file?? Mike

Dan21tn
I try to like the datafile from mvp 06 beta, as I to play on MVP difficulty . But pitching is just insane, I can pitch fine for like 3-4 innings. But once the stamina hits anything below like 85-80ish .... the pitches are 100% late , or 100% early. It's like humanly impossible to get the pitch marker in the middle of the meter (green area). Theres no green just a tiny piece of orange, so its like every pitch is either late , or early. And if you play against a team like the orioles or yanks, tejada, mora, jeter, arod, are going to hit that thing outa the park no matter where you pitch ... because power hitters love to fiest on the early/late. Is there anyway upon mvp 06's release they will maybe make a datafile pertaining to the MVP difficulty players? Because I really love the file I want more challening pitching, I just dont want it to be impossible =/ Btw I've tried sliders no combination really helps pertaining to the User control / Pitch meter difficulty I've been fiddling with it for hours on end
pfalvey
There is an easy pitching version of the datafile on another website, I think it's total-classics.com or similar, do a search, I think it's linked to some of the modders sigs, Hory or fuzzone come to mind. Also, you can always edit the datafile yourself, that's what I've done with maddiedaddies latest datafile. I've made it slightly easier to pitch than the 06mod version and it's really not as hard to edit as it would seem, you just need to know where to edit. If interested, D/L maddiedaddies DF Line Spreadsheet file and DF Compression utility. Also, I believe there are like 6 lines of the DF related to pitching and there's a post identifying them in the last page or two of the Mdaddies datafile thread, or maybe it's in the MVP06 datafile thread. Dan21tn
Thanks Pfalvey I am using mvp 06 datafile (the one with a fixed batter stance 6 camera via a datafile.txt). I got the datafile txt in there and the datafile from mvp 06 beta in there also, using 35 meter difficulty and 50 on user pitch control. Seems to work decently. Much more challening as I like, and playable so far on mvp difficulty. Once I get into the 4th-9th innings it gets real hard but its fun ; )
pfalvey
From your previous post I thought you were looking for a datafile that was a little easier to pitch on, maybe I misunderstood. Anyways, I only made mine a little easier as it's really easy with the default DF with the game. Pat
Dan21tn
Well I want more of a challenge then default mvp 2005 =/ But the mvp beta 06 datafile is nearly impossible to land in the middle of the meter (theres no green at all), so what I did was just threw my slider pitch meter difficulty to 35, and user pitch control to 50 =/ It kinda helps. Much more challening thats for sure lol
