b.o.b.
Any chance of solving this on the mod for 06?? What in the world causes this thing to happen?? There's no logic to it, right? How can the runner have made the 3rd out if no out at all was recorded on the play? I've played 5 games on the beta and have had the "runner 3rd out" thing happen 3 times already. Two of them was 100 % legitimate doubles (sure the outfielder mishandled the ball, but it did not affect the outcome of the play) and one was a clean error. I remember from last year that sac bunts will go as "runner 3rd out" if you reach. It's killing stats really if you're in a dynasty.

Stix
Mo... then become a Yankee fan. NO MO DON'T DO IT! We always start out the season slow. Things will hopefully turn our way. They usually do right around the all-star break.

saxemachine
Couldn't you just turn errors off on one of the options menus? It still isn't that realistic, but not having errors is better than having triples being statted as outs.
b.o.b.
I'm gonna try to bring this to the table again, I can't believe that there isn't more discussions about this issue. This bug is really spoiling the fun for me way to often and it's going to make me break up with an otherwise great game one day. So the original question, before I got hijacked, was if there's anything that can be done to the scorers table in this game. I've tried to play with errors off, but that's even worse cause you can be reckless when fielding and the "regular" errors make it realistic. The thing I'm talking about is the black pitch marker in pitch history combined with the text "runner 3rd out". It happens on grounders through the infield, on line drives over the infielders head, when the batted ball bounces of the pitcher, when you want to sac bunt with runners on and happen to reach and worse is probably clean doubles or triples of the wall. I would probably accept it if at least said "reached on error" but this is bs, I'm so sick of it. Please someone with knowledge about how the scoring works, is it fixable? Just looking for a straight answer this time.

b.o.b.
I must be in the minority here, but I very rarely see this happen. I wouldn't be so sure considering what happened to this thread last time out... Seriously though, maybe it's something with my game or something I installed or the sliders or something cause I see one of these (me or CPU) on average not quite 50 % but surely about 40 % of the games. NimitsTexan
I see it happen quite frequently, though usually it seemed to me just to be recording the out wrong (i.e., it was a pop up that get's identified as runner 3rd out).
jhath
happens to me all the time... i have carl crawford on my team and i try bunt singles... everytime... assuming he gets on, its scored as a runner third out... sucks too... screws his average cause the ones where hes out, unfortunately count as ab's
JP_Frost
This happens alot to me as well. The thing with the bunts is that there 2 types of bunts in this game: the push bunt and the one you try for singles (which is pretty damn hard to pull off). The runner 3rd out thing only happens on push bunts, because the computer recognizes it as a sac bunt, and for some reason is unable to score it a hit when the runner reaches safely. It will give you a single on the other type of bunt. Like you said it also happens on doubles, even though I get cheated because the cpu scores it an error. The ball will bounce off the wall and the fielder doesn't catch it off the wall immediately and they'll score the entire play as an error while it basically doesn't matter if he'll play it right or not cause there's no chance to keep the batter from reaching 2nd anyway. very annoying indeed, but I think it's hard coded in the game and therefore impossible for people here to adjust. b.o.b.
Two more examples today... First a sac try and the throw takes the 1st baseman off the base. Should be a infield hit or an error on the pitcher. Instead it's "runner 3rd out" BUT here's the funny thing, the batter doesn't show up in the box score, not until after his second AB after which he is 0-for-1. Just eight batters the first time around for my team according to the box score! Secondly I noticed that line drive double plays (very often to the 1st baseman) is also scored as "runner 3rd out". I wonder if this is when the cpu doesn't recognize the play and doesn't know how to score it? Anyhow, feels better venting this stuff here instead of letting the gamepad have it... lautrec
It happens to me about once per game. Usually on a sacrifice bunt, and my bunter reaches. Sometimes I see it when a guy hit a single, the OF bobbled or threw bad, my runner advanced the extra base. Then, when my same guy bats next time, I check his last AB, and its the Runner 3rd Out. I've just learned to live with it.
