Croadie24
First of all, Yes i have read the rules about double posting. I have been searching for days now to find a topic relevant to what im asking but i cannot find it and it is not through lack of searching. My problem is this, there does not seem to be any trading in my dynasty. At first i thought there was a problem with some sort of mod that i may have installed and forgotten about. So i uninstalled the game, did a fresh install and i still have the same problem. The computer never offers anything for the p;ayers i put on the block and im not talking minor leaguers here. For 60 odd games ive had Manny. Ortiz, Schilling and Wakefield on the block. not a single offer. I decided to be pro active about it, so i attempted to manually trade these guys, NOTHING i cannot even get an RP from an A league team for Schilling, Ortiz and Wakefield. Can someone explaint to me what is going on ? is there any mod to makes trades more realistic or am i still experiencing the after affects of a mod that i ahve installed previously. For memory, i have only ever installed Ultimate Rosters Standard, not sure exactly which version but it was a view versions ago. Somebody please help, this is destroying my game experience. D-Unit
if i were you, i would look on the block and move from there. and even though i am a yankee fan, why in the world would you trade those guys? is it just for an example or did you want them gone? Croadie24
Ok, thank you for the prompt reply, i knew i could count on this forum to get to the bottom of this. Secondly, I initially wanted to trade Wakefield, because i have Clemens in the rotation. But after not being able to trade Wakefield i thought i would try to trade anyone and everyone in order to get the computer to accept something. Doesnt happen. I tried restricting my trade targets to the players on the block and that doesnt work either.
OleEnglishD
I have noticed that you cannot trade a player witha large contract for a player with a small contract unless the cpu offers you a trade. So this takes away from the realism of teams trying to salary dump for prospects.
fred13
these guys, NOTHING i cannot even get an RP from an A league team for Schilling, Ortiz and Wakefield. if you have budets on, then the team may not want such big contracts. That happens sometimes. try trading for similar talented, similar contracted minor leaguers.
shugknight
Just to let you know, if your in Dynasty (not owners mode) in order for you to trade a player, the salaries of the players your trading for must be equivalent to the salaries of the players your giving away. For instance, you cant trade Manny for somebody in the A-league simply because Manny is making 100x more money then the minor leaguer.
Croadie24
Ok so let me get this straight. The salaries of the players needs to be almost equivelant. So technically if i were to alter a players salary to match that of wakefield's the trade would go through, provided that Wakefield was rated higher or even ? How much do age and potential factor in to these trades. To lay it all on the line here, i want to get F Rod from the Angels. And they wont just take wakefield. Hell they dont seem to accept anything.
DarkEnigma510
The CPU is normally very stingy when it comes to trading on MVP. One thing you can do that will increase trading activity is turning fair trades off while you go through your dynasty. You will see more CPU vs CPU trades. You may also get more trade offers that way (although the CPU may try to rip you off more also).
pfalvey
You can always turn budgets off, that way the CPU will only evaluate talent when offered a trade. From my experience, the CPU will not consider swapping small contracts for big, though they will if they recieve the smaller contract. Pat
einuah
Yes to the OP, I have experienced the same thing with my dynasty. In MVP2004, I was able to salary dump the team (just about any team) for talents, and start over afresh. In fact, one of the most fun thing to do in MVP2004 was to act as a 'headhunter', sign the semi-good players on free agency and then trade them away for cheaper prospects, so everyone has a job and a no team has money left It's too bad that on MVP2005 you had to go through 'cheating' or irregular ways to achieve this...especially when everyone seems to have > $10 mil left but no one will take my 5-6 million contract!
