BravesFan10
I have no clue what I am doing wrong. My game crashes before the game starts. I downloaded the patches 3 and 5 and then download Livin Large and the game crashes. What should I do?
SwinginSoriano
If your game is crashing before it starts, then obviously one of the mods are not working with your computer. But that's all I know.
Totte
Did you do any changes to the rosters yourself before adding them to the game?
BravesFan10
No, I added UR 6.2 Plus, then it crashed before the game loaded to actually play the game, then I put in the MVP 06 files and same thing happened.

When you say you "put in the MVP 06 files", do you mean you ran the installer? From a fresh installation of MVP 2005, run Patch 3. Fire the game up - just to be certain you can play it flawlessly. Then run the MVP06 mod after that. Then, see if you can play it again. If so, update your rosters again to UR 6.2 Plus. It sounds like you did something out of order but I could be missunderstanding. BravesFan10
I got a fresh installation and downloaded patch 3 and 5. I then ran the installer and the game loaded, but then when I actually had to play the game it ended right when it was about 99.9%.
BravesFan10
Ok, I did another fresh installation and when it gets to download when I get into the game, it makes a clicking noise. I didn't try any patches in this try. I have tried patch 3 only, patch 3 and 5, and no patch and none of these have worked.

mystic_canadian
1) Install mvp 2005 clean 2) add patch #3 3) Install 2006 mod...make sure all programs are closed when doing so. Try this without adding any other mods just the '06. I have a Dell 1100 (2.66; 1gb ram;) and it works fine with me, the only issue I have is a couple of players have there faces messed up in the game but it hasn't crashed the game yet when I play)

jhath
have you downloaded any other rosters or model.big files and installed them as well? also, try with a few different teams... if you are only using 2 teams it could be a stadium error
movietitan
I just downloaded UR 7.1 edition. I had not installed any mods for a long time (probably since last world series) b/c I was happy with what I had. I decided to get an update on the rosters b/c I could not keep up with them myself. Anyway, I'm getting the same problem as the starter of this thread is. The game crashes before it gets to the game. I'm not sure what patches I have installed. Should I reinstall it fresh, download patch 3 (from EA website right?), then install this MVP 2006 mod (where can i find this?) what about patch 5? also i read the readme file on the UR 7.1 download and it said to simply put the files in my main MVP 2005 folder. there were two folders in the .zip file one named "mbe" and the other "dat". the "dat" folder had many files which i assumed went into my datefile folder in MVP. I copied and pasted those files into my datafile folder. the "mbe" folder had one file named "ur710plus.mbe" and i wasn't sure where to stick this. so i just stuck that folder in with other folders in my datafile folder. was this the right move and if not, is this why my game is crashing. sorry that was so much info. any help would be very useful. thanks
snepp
The readme also says that in order to use the "Plus" version of the rosters you need to use one of big shmooz's models.big files.
movietitan
im sorry i missed that. so which models.big file should i use? where should i go from here? what should i do?

The .dat files go in the database folder. The .mbe file goes in a folder called "mvpedit". You will only have this folder if you installed the mvpedit program which is a database program designed for use with mvp baseball. (not part of the game) Now if you are using the 7.1 plus version of the rosters (Totte released 2 versions of the rosters) then you need my models.big to go along with it. (that's why Totte made 2 versions) I would like to add here that since you did not install the rosters correctly, it is in fact quite impossible that your roster install is the cause of your crash. (you are in fact not using updated rosters at all) I also think you were reading the wrong readme. Because you comment that it said to install to the main mvp folder. That readme is for my models.big download, not for the roster download. (hence the readme is named "BigShmooz") The readme of the rosters is named just plain "readme". In it is clearly tells you where to put the rosters. The following is a copy & paste of the readme file... UR v 7.1 Standard Edition • Place the .dat-files in your mvp baseball 2005/data/database folder. Choose "yes" when you're asked to overwrite. • The .mbe-file is not necessary if you just want to play with the rosters. Add it to your mvpedit installation folder if you want to look at the rosters with MVPedit. If you don't have that specific folder and you don't want to use MVPedit to edit the rosters - IGNORE THE .MBE-FILE!!! UR v 7.1 Plus Edition • Place the .dat-files in your mvp baseball 2005/data/database folder. Choose "yes" when you're asked to overwrite. • Place the models.big file in your mvp baseball 2005/data folder and the uniforms.big file in your mvp baseball 2005/data/frontend folder. Choose "yes" when you're asked to overwrite. (If you’re using the models.big Lite version by Big Shmooz, ignore the process of adding the uniforms.big file). (models.big is a separate download!) • The .mbe-file is not necessary if you just want to play with the rosters. Add it to your mvpedit installation folder if you want to look at the rosters with MVPedit. If you don't have that specific folder and you don't want to use MVPedit to edit the rosters - IGNORE THE .MBE-FILE!!!
