chakfu
I did it once before, but I don't remember how. The utility posted on this site never worked, I remember that. Everyone says edit the *.loc files using loclook, but that doesn't effect the name of the team in mvpedit. Looking at my old files, I must have hex edited "team.dat", and I think that worked. But I dont' remember how I got around the fact that "Los Angeles" has many more letters than "Anaheim." does the length of the file not really matter? I would think just inserting Los Angeles would screw up something. Can I just copy my old team.dat? Or does the team.dat from ultimate rosters 6.1 have updated information about teams, maybe their schedule or something, that I wouldn't want to lose? I searched around the site, and I don't think this issue has *ever* been clearly explained.

chakfu
I figured it out. The point is that you need to update both FEENG.LOC and IGENG.LOC using loclook, AND you have to update the team.dat tstats.dat . The generic "ANA to LAA" utility actually seems to work ok for updating the .dat files. I hope it didn't wreck anything updated for MLB '06 though. I'm surprised with all the things updated for MLB 06 that this isn't changed; I assume there was healthy debate it about before so I won't worry about it now.
