Ortiz was 3 for 5 in the game with 1 HR and 2 rbi Schilling warming up before the game. Schilling looking to make a comeback this season from a injury plagued 2005 season Schilling started the season out good with getting the win. He pitched 7 innings while giving up 10 hits but only had one K Manny proving that he is underrated defencivly. One on One with Trot Nixon Trot do you think the Sox have the talent to reach the post season? "I know we can get to the post season, The better question would be how far we can get in the post season." With your contract running out at the end of the season do you think it is a possibility that you could be traded during this season? "I think it is a possibility but I would definitly want to finish my career in Boston." Other Notes- Coco Crisp gets his first hit as a Sox player. He was 1 for 5 in the game with 1 run. The only run was a rbi single given up by Wakefield. The only highlight of the game was this great dive by Mark Lorreta. Both runs were given up in the first innings but he settled down and pitched the remaining 8 innings with ease. Beckett only gave up 5 hits. The Sox beat Texas 6-2 Manny shows off his arm by getting an assist. Kevin Youkilis shows that moving to first base wasn't a problem. Big Papi points to the sky after his second HR of the season. Clement: 5 IP 10 hits 4 ER No decison The long ball powered the Sox to a 9-4 victory in the end. Tavarez came in after Clements' bad start and shut down the O's offence and the Sox offence exploded with 6 homers in the game. Jon Lester was rocked today in a bad outing 5.1 IP 9 hits 5 ER 2 SO Lowell hits another HR today. He has been on fire since the beginning of the season. The first runs of the game scored on Big Papi's Grand Slam. He was 1-5 in the game. Pena had an incredible game with 3 homeruns. This Homerun shown was an estimated 480 ft! Pena was 3 for 5 with 5 rbi. Schilling pitched another great game today: 7 IP 3 hits 1 ER 1 K Timlin is having trouble lately today he was: 1 IP 4 hits 2 ER Other Notes- The Red Sox and Giants reached a deal that sends David Wells to SF and sends Matt Morris to Boston The Red Sox have reached a deal with the Seattle Mariners that sends Keith Foulke to the M's and Rafael Soriano to Boston. This is what Theo said, "We've talked to a few club about trading Trot, We are looking for a 1st baseman possibly to platoon with Youk or even take over 1B and as far as relief pitching goes we may use Jon Papelbon (closer) in middle of games because he hasn't pitched yet..."
