I havnt opened it yet as im not sure I want to keep it. I own the ps2 version and absolutly love it, but with no more updates and new version im rather dissapointed. I am worried that it will be alot different on the pc and I will not be able to get used to the controls. Can someone who has switched from PS2 to PC please tell me what their opinion was?

Also if I do keep it (which i prob will), how do i go about updating the game. This is whats important for me:

1) updated rosters (MLB,AAA,AA,A)

2) up to date stats (some players should be better than they were last year)

3) player pictures

4) As a Toronto fan I play the whole franchise with them and I was wondering if i can even obtain the new Rogers Center.

Is there one giant patch I can install to achieve this?

I had it for PS2 first, then for PC. GET A USB ADAPTER! It's the only way I would ever play it for the PC; it makes it so much easier to cntrol the game with my PS2 controller.

First you'll want to download the MVP 06 beta, found in the Files section. From there, download UR 6.2 OR Soriano's 2.1 rosters. (Since you specified AAA-down, I'd download UR) Regarding stats, you might have to transfer players from Soriano's into UR. I'm not going to explain how; this way you can get used to the search function. Total Portraits are included in the 06 beta, so you're set there. Check the Files section for a new Rogers Centre. Good luck.

First, what kgbaseball said is absolutely right - you'll find the game much more enjoyable if you purchase a PS2 to USB adapter.

Before you open it, what are your computer specs? I imagine that you'd be fine, but, before purchasing a controller or anything, you might just want to double-check.

If you're not too sure how to see what you have, try this:

- Go to the Start Menu

- Go to the Run... Command Box

- Type in DXDIAG and hit Run

When the little window appears, the main values you want are:

* [On System Tab]: Processor

* [On System Tab]: Memory

* [On Display Tab]: Name and Approx Total Memory

Also, just to add, if you know all this information already or have your own way of finding out what you have in your system, I don't mean to offend you or anything. Just trying to see what you have so you can run MVP smoothly.

And lastly,

WELCOME! :mrgreen:

Another thing you may want to do BEFORE installing the MVP06 beta, is installing one of the EA patches. Patch #3 is the one I use, and seems the one best tolerated on this site. It'll address any stuttering issue. Install it before the mod, otherwise, if you install the 06 mod and find you need the patch you'll have to re-install MVP2005, install the patch and then the mod.

Thanks guys ill definitly look into getting a ps2 to usb port. Can i buy these anywhere or do I have to get them online, also how much will it cost? My computer specs are fine, i built the system myself and it will run any program fine.

Just so im clear.... i install mvp 2005 than install the patch #3, and than install one of the two mods UR 6.2 or Sorianos 2.1. After than im good to go? Ill have updated rosters (MLB,AAA,AA,A) and have updated stadiums and updated stats and player pictures?

Hey mate,

As for the PS2 to USB converter, you can pick one up from a RadioShack for not too much. But, a lot of people on these forums have purchased theirs online - some via eBay - with a lot of luck. All in all, it won't cost you as much as a "cheap" dual analog controller for the PC alone. :yeah:

In regards to your game, do this:

- Install MVP 2005, (Full Installation)

- Install EA's Patch #3

* (At this point, you might want to run the game just to see if there's any issues before you install any mods)

- Download one of the two MVP06 Mods

- Run the installer and point the installer to your MVP folder, (from step 1).

- When prompted, choose to "Overwrite" existing files.

This will get you a clean install of the stock game and the full conversion of the 06 mod. That means you'll have updated players, uniforms, as well as updated stadiums and more.( < Sounds like a sales pitch :? )

You can now also update to even newer rosters by downloading either the Ultimate Rosters Plus Edition 6.2 OR you can use SwinginSoriano's custom rosters. Both are great. It's kind of like Pepsi & Coke - just a matter of preference.

- Good Luck

If you are in the US you can get them at radio shack I believe. If you are in Canada then you may not be able to find them in stores. I had to get mine through ebay and it costed me 16 bucks cdn a couple years back and got it in a week and a half.
