Mercurial23
I just bought a brand new PC, and can finally play MVP on the PC. (Thank god, 2k sucks!) Anyway, Im wondering what I should do first after installing MVP on my PC. I understand I should get EA's 3rd patch, and only the 3rd patch...is this correct? Also, which downloads shoudl I get that are going to enhance the gameplay, and game experience the most? The MVP 06 mod, when its released? And what unifrom pack should I get? Also, I remember when I played MVP on the xbox, players would not progress like they should, is this fixed, and not an issue with MVP 05 for the PC out of the box, even after I include the MVP 06 mod? If it is an issue still, is there a download I can get that will fix it? I appreciate anyone helping me, a n00b, out. Thanks in advance.
cb
There is a beta version of the '06 mod. You can find it on the files page down at the very bottom. Welcome to the site. -cb
pfalvey
Yes, the 3rd patch seems to be the best. The MVP06 beta is good until the final version comes out, make sure you install patch 3 first. The mod comes with it's own uniforms. After MVP06 mod, I'd consider D/L one of the updated rosters, UR or Swingin Soriano's. SS's has better MLB player ratings but lack the full total minors that UR has. Other mods I recommend are grasschanger mod, progression mod (addresses the progression issue), freeagency mod. There are many others which you can find in the downloads. Also, if you enjoy playing with great teams from early 1900s to present, you'll really enjoy Total Classics 5. Each classic team has their respective uniforms of the time, portraits, etc...It's like the MVP06 mod, but classic. Pat
Mercurial23
After I download and install EA's 3rd patch, and the 06 mod (Which I cant seem to find), can I install any other mods and downloads I want without screwing up the 06 mod? I cant seem to find the 06 mod, or the progression mod. Also, I heard that with the progression mod, there are problems with rookies and their speed. Is there another download that fixes that? Thanks
Mercurial23
Ok-I found the progression mod, and it seems to have v3, which fixes the rookie speed issue. My question still is, if I dont the 3rd EA patch, and then the 06 mod, can I still DL and install all other add-ons I want, without screwing up my game? Where did the 06 mod go by the way? pfalvey
With the rosters you install, you need to make sure to install the correct version according to the models.big you are using, check the readme files attached. That is with or without the 06 mod. None of the mods should give you any problems, but most of the popular mods have well established threads to address issues and you can always do a forum search if you need help. Total Classics will interfers with the MVP06 mod, so most people make a copy of the whole MVP2005 directory, paste it in a new folder and rename that folder Total Classics. You then have 2 versions of MVP, the original (with or w/o the 06mod) and total classics. You need HD space for that, obviously. Pat
