Ok, this was a legitimate question posted in here. At that time very little was known about McCutchen. Remember, this post is from 2006.

somebody has got to know sometin about this, at least where to go and find this out, any help would be awsome

Two days later, no answer. He bumps the thread. Happens all the time.

please

Another two days later, he bumps the thread again because nobody responded.

Were any up-to-date ratings on McCutchen ever shared on here?

Like Andy82, I'm confused by this also. Why after almost four years bring up an old thread? And the answer to this is obvious. Just download KG's latest roster and there you go, you'll see McCutcheon's stats in all its glory.

It's so nice to be able to provide answers here to the general population in here, even though they had to wait four years.

It was a simple question.

KG's latest rosters do not have accurate ratings for McCutchen in my opinion. So, I searched the threads, found this one and decided to ask here.

Who cares if it's an old thread? Better than posting a new one, right?

And because the latest rosters don't take into consideration McCutchen's stats last season I simply wanted to see what people were using with him.

I've used Dylan's Calcs for him, but wanted to get some other opinions.

I don't see the big deal.

And if threads are too old why are they still on here?

And I gave you a simple answer.

KG's rosters are accurate. If they were not accurate people would not download them and KG would not keep making them. And what SESbb30 told you was all you need to know. If you don't like McCutcheon's stats or anyone else's, fix them. Either that or wait until it gets closer to baseball season and wait for the next roster release.

Again I came through with the correct answer and this time it didn't take four years to do!

KG's rosters are awesome, the best we have. However, McCutchen, being a rookie and having a pretty good 108 games last season, could use a little upgrade because the rosters cam out before the end of the season, right?. That's not a knock on KG at all.

And you're telling me to fix the stats myself. This is exactly what I'm doing. And I'm trying to use the knowledgeable people on this site for some help. I created some ratings for him but I wanted to see how they compared to other people's ratings to make sure they are accurate as I can get them.

This website is a community of people who share a few common interests, MVP baseball 2005 is among them. Aren't we supposed to use the forums to get some help if someone has the answer?

I guess my sin here was using an old thread to do so. I didn't think that would be a big deal. (And you know I'm not the dude who started the thread, right?) I suppose I should have started a new thread to ask this question. I guess I could have asked in a different way too. So, if I asked the question wrong I apologize. Or if I broke some code of ethics I apologize for that too.

Yet still, if the answer to the question was "no, there are no new ratings", then shouldn't that have been the only thing that was said? Why all the slams and deconstructive comments? Are those ever needed? Is this really that important to get upset over?

Or better yet, maybe I should just ask, what have I done wrong here in all of your eyes?

I can't speak for everyone, but in relation to my post, I was just having a laugh. I apologise if it may have come across differently. :)

I don't see the big deal about anything in this thread at all.

this is what i have from dylans calculator for his stats.

Contact vsL 85

Power vs L 79 (personally i think this should be a tad lower, maybe 75)

Contact vs R 76

Power vs R 64

Speed 96

(these are in mvp edit numbers i take it)

Plate Discipline-10

Bunting-10

Steal Aggresiveness-11

Baserunning ability-10

Durability-10

i honestly agree with whats there.

I guess so.

I know what you mean, it's almost impossible to gauge context with text alone. I try to avoid using lots of emoticons, but sometimes it's necessary to give at least some context, at the risk of looking like a goofy moron.

MarkB, looking like a goofy moron and being kind is much better than being an idiot! I just read too much into it, I don't usually do that. Vocal expression is a great thing.

SESbb30, that exactly what I have from those calcs. That gives me some confirmation then. I agree with your thoughts about the left side power numbers too. I'd be surprised if he comes close to 30 hr's this season.

Yeah, not sure what those other numbers mean.

I know KG uses a spreadsheet instead of Dylan's stuff. It'd be interesting to see what he has for his next roster update.

Again, completely agree. I'd rather be hated for being too nice than for being an as...well, being generally unkind. ;)

Ok, yeah, that sounds good too. I might even put plate discipline at 65 or 60. 80+ Ks in 108 games is a lot.

Have you ever ran the fielding calc? I'm getting this: fielding at 95, range at 65, throwing strength at 95 and accuracy at 90. The fielding seems close (maybe a 90). Range, however seems like it should be a lot higher because that guy is wicked fast. Not sure if the other two are right.

As someone who is a die-hard Pirates fan, I can give you some insight here. McCutchen is an AMAZING fielder. That range is much too low for him. He is extremely good at tracking down balls in the gaps. However, I would set his accuracy lower. I can remember a lot of times when his throws were over the catcher or up the line, so somewhere in the 70s-low 80s would be better.
