Help With Ultimate Roster Crashing

Hi all,

I just downloaded Ultimate Rosters v 6.3 plus edition, and the rosters seem okay, but whenever I try to play a game it crashes. The readme says that I need uniform.big and models.big, and that those two files come with the download, but I do not see them. I downloaded the update, and as per its installation instructions I extracted them into the main MVP Baseball folder. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?

Download the models.big by Big Shmooz and you'll be fine if you're running the Plus Edition of the rosters.

Also, make sure you have EA Patch 3 and 5 installed.

That's weird - I can't find them either.

I know Shmooz was gonna upload new versions of his models.big so they might temporarily be down as the new ones are being prepared. Try again later :wtg:

The files are there, on the 2nd page of the rosters D/L section. Someone mentioned the search function wasn't working properly. An FYI, there are 3fidderent models.big file: Moser=2x uni's, Umachines=1.5x and the lite is probably just 1x.

Well, I am using SwinginSoriano's roster of a couple versions ago with the current models.big and I've had 1 crash, but mostly have had no problems. Make sure models.big is read-only. Make a backup of your current models.big, try the new one and if it causes problems you can always go back.

It will work, but a few cyberfaces (those added to the roster but not to the models.big) will be incorrect. But it will not cause your game to crash since there is an actual cyberface there in those slots. (albiet the wrong one)

I am sorry but there is nothing I can do. I have tried on multiple occasions to upload the newer models.big but due to the problems with the server here, it has not been successful.

If the crash has been when Florida is one of the teams, this should be rectified when the new models.big is released.

I use Florida for my dynasty and get crashes mid-game all the time. So you're saying there's a reason for it and it'll be fixed? :yeah:

Girardi's cyberface is corrupt. This issue should be fixed as soon as I can upload the new models.big.

First off, thank you for the continued help and responses.

I am not great with a computer, and am going out of my mind trying to play an Owner's Mode game. It keeps crashing as it loads the game, although I can play games on "Play Now" and Dynasty Mode.

I put all the extracted files in the "data" folder. I was confused about the directions in the Readme for the UR V 6.3, because it said that part of that particular download was a uniform.big and a models.big files, but those were not there. I am sorry to keep bothering the forum about this, but the roster update seems fantastic, and I'd love to play with it rather than just the original MVP 2005 rosters.

If it would help, to eliminate error on my part, I can uninstall and reinstall before following whatever instructions y'all could give.

Is it possible for all of the CORRECT files to be uploaded in ONE file with a clearly written readme?

I can imagine how confusing this must be for people who are not computer savvy. "Use this models.big with that uniforms.big and these patches. Yes the models and uniform.big are not contained in the roster download but search for them, etc. etc."

I appreciate all of the hard work that has been done, especially with the 2006 mod, but man am I glad that I'm not a newbie.

I guess my problem can break down into three seperate sub-questions:

1) Once I download UR V 6.3 Plus (or 6.2, or whichever you recommend), where in the MVP Baseball 2005 folder do I extract the files into?

2) Which models.big and uniform.big should I download that are compatible with the specific roster update?

3) Where should I put the .big files?

EDIT: I uninstalled everything, and started reinstalling stuff one by one, starting an Owner's Mode game after each new reinstallation. It was fine initially, and it was fine after official patch #3, but it began crashing after official patch #3. This prevents me from playing Owner's Mode games. Any suggestions?

No, I was playing a dynasty game, not with Florida, and it just crashed to the desktop. It was an isolated occurrence, not a pattern, so I'm not wooried.

No files are meant to be put into the data folder. You need to take the .dat files of the roster download & put that in your database folder. Make sure you are not putting a folder in there. Only the dat files go in there.

As far as the models.big are concerned, simply extract the entire contents of the download to your main mvp folder as the read me instructs. That's it... you're done & good to go.

P.S. I have finally been able to upload the version which is made for the 6.3 plus rosters, so download the latest version of the models.big & install that one as per the instructions above.
