Prolly Never gonna happen.....

1) A better stadium create system.

2) A way to add mods new (Maybe you can with some, but not stadiums so I hear) without having to overwrite pre-existing ones.

I think both of these are possible. Eveybody's so hyped about OEdit, but nobody creates anything decent with it- almost all versions of pre-existing parks. (Thanx for the Ebbetts field one, there's an exeption, a decent, actually great stadium.)

bodhiball made some fantastic AA and AAA stadiums. Yeah, I had to replace some of the classic stadiums to have them in the game. IMO, that's not a big deal. There's always the Total Classic series if I want to play in those particular parks.

Pirate did an awesome job on the new Busch stadium. It's probably one of his best.

I have a lot of admiration for all of the people who mod the stadiums. I gave it a shot a few times, but I just don't have the patience and dedication to do it.

If you actually believe that "nobody creates anything decent", why don't you try.

I don't care how hard it is... and it is cuz I've fiddled with it... I still don't want to downloaded some existing park with a few wall ads changed. That's a waste of the modder's time, I'd say. If you guys like to spend so much time on ads, go for it! Have fun!

Personally I want to see stadiums with unique structures, not true-to-life designs. I know this is an opinion.

Personally, I don't understand your view. The parks done by Pirate and The Big O, and Bodhiball's minors are excellent. They are not a waste of time at all because they add so much realism to the game, rather than seeing the same non-existant ads in every stadium. If you think its a waste of time, why don't you just lean the programs and make your own stadiums. I don't know how, so i appreciate the ones given to us. Thats my opinion.

I'm not saying the guys don't do good work, I'm just saying I don't want to download new versions of parks already on the game. I want something new. Brand new. Know what I'm saying?

I want... I want... I want....

How about changing that to "Can someone create....?" or "I haven't seen anything like this, so I'm going to try to make it myself".

If all you're going to do is complain because you haven't seen the mod YOU want, you can almost be guaranteed that no one is going to want to help.

Ahh! I didn't intend for this to be an argument thread.

Well you did come across like a jerk. I am computer illiterate when it comes to PC games, heck I have trouble just installing the mods but I know that I can not do anything even close to what these great people do so I don't complain. I graciously accept and appreciate what is done for us on these games and bottom line is if you are not pleased with the quality or what is offered then learn how to do it yourself. There is nothing worse than some turd who whines and complains about something but offers no help or services to help with what they feel needs improved or fixed. I say put up or shut up.

The only stadiums I've been to are the old Busch stadium back in the late 60s to late 80s and Fenway back in the mid-90s. I'll probably never get to Cleveland, Toronto, Seattle, San Diego, or any of the other cities that have major league baseball. The closest stadium to where I live is RFK and that'd be at least a 6-7 hour drive. That's why I love the stadiums that bodhiball, Pirate, and the others have made. I get to see the stadiums without actually going there.

I want realism in my games. I don't want to play in some futuristic park that has some bizarre-looking scenery in the outfield. Just my opinion :D

....which you are entitled to. I'm not anti-realism, just to let you know, though.

LOL. WHO'S complaining? LOL. Better check to see if someone else complained too. LOL.

BTW... I'm not complaining about the modders, just the state of things. I'm actually upset about the very thing you guys keep saying... those kinds of things are hard to do. I wish someone could make it easier. I wish I was capable of it- I will look into it some more, I might not be a lost cause. If I were, I would incorporate my style of things into the modding... I'm just sad that it wasn't easier.

modding isnt ever going to be easier .. Modders do the excact same thing nearly that programmers who made the game do. my Personal Opinion that some of these modders could actualy get a job with EA Sports with the jobs they do here... Remember these Modders (As my self am a Modder but for a FPS not Sport Games) they don't Have all the source Code or any at all don't know what EA sports have done with MVP 2005 since they dont have the contract if they have released any source.. has anyone asked them since they don't have the contract .. wait EA are Stuborn .. prolly wont happen

Then what the hell are you saying?

If you want those kinds of stadiums, make them yourself. Stop acting like an *** to the people who might actually be able to help you.

Jeeze, these clowns are just pouring from the woodwork lately.

SHUT UP!!!!!

All this arguing was dead and you had to resurrect it. Let it die. (I meant decent as in something I found interesting.)

It NEVER HAPPENS. NEVER. Every time somebody starts arguing online, it never stops until the thread gets locked. Once I think I can remember one not doing that, but every other time it just continues and continues. Hopefully the powers that be will give this one more chance before locking it, but I'm not them so I wouldn't know...

The mods are fine, what else would you expect? For something that the MVP engine isn't capable of to be made? Practically everything has been done, and if somehow the guys here had their hands on the source code I'd bet even more amazing things would be done.

I guess I don't understand what you mean? The mods that have been created are fine? Is that what you're saying?

Well... the issue is that EA didn't make a good stadium create thing. They made a course creator for Tiger Woods, they should've made something for this.

It had been dead for what...an hour? It was still pretty high up on my list of "new posts," when I responded to it.

You're the one who's making posts complaining about how the current modders are doing an insufficient job for your personal tastes.

You're the one saying that all these guys are doing is making changes to advertising, a claim that's totally without merit.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm arguing at you. You made an offensive post that you still seem to be standing by, and are telling others to shut up as they're calling you out on it.

By this point, I'm sure, nobody has any interest in helping you do this, especially the people who could -- those who release "some existing park with a few wall ads changed." You'd be better off learning this yourself.

I'll say something in this thread. Why don't YOU create your own PC Baseball Game if you want something BRAND NEW?

Ungrateful little p***k.

I got a 1490 on my SATs, and I know enough not to bite the hand that feeds me, so I'm not sweating it.

Be nice to others and others will be nice to you. Isn't that rule number one?

Let me show you how it's done:

------

Dear modders:

I'm wondering two things regarding stadiums in MVP.

1. Would it be possible to create a simpler Create-A-Stadium program? O-Edit takes a large amount of work to learn, and some of us just don't have the hours/talent to make it happen. Despite having well-developed and unique ideas, we can't put them into the game. Is there anyway to take the technology of O-Edit and simplify it for the average user?

2. In addition, with all of the amazing work done recently in getting through some of the program's code for the .dat exporter/importer and the finding of hibody.o, what are the chances that we will be able to add more stadium slots? Do we know where this information is located, and how it can potentially be edited?

Thanks,

Sincerely,
