atrain3868
Hello, I am still getting my MVP 2005 up and running. I read the forums daily and try to digest as much info as possible in order to get my game as realistic and stable as possible. One thing that worries me are all the posts I see about the game crashing. I have not played the game yet and want to get it set up with the best mods and add-ons so I can enjoy it to the fullest. I am very concerned with how much crashing seems to be going on to people's games as they add various mods and add-ons. I guess what I am looking for is A) what mods/roster sets have seemed to cause the most problems so I can avoid them and are the crashes caused more by the mod creators flawed designing and developing or carelessness in the user added programs/mods to their game? I really am not looking forward to downloading and installing all these recommended mods if I have to play Sherlock Holmes and search tirelessly for problems that are causing crashing. I really think all the developed mods are great and I thank all the talented people for developing them and sharing them with us, but to be frank I really do not have the time with a full work week and other obligations to search for crashing and hope to "nip it in the bud" with good info and suggestions for the good folks here who are much more knowledgable than myself in regards to this. Thanks for any info, suggestions, and/or ideas that might help ease my concerns.
kgbaseball
Well, Soriano's roster seems to crash after a few games in dynasty/owner mode, but I guess turning CPU Trades on or off fixes that problem. Generally, most crashes come from incorrect installation/people not knowing what the heck they're doing. It takes only a couple weeks to figure out the basics of how mods work and how to install them properly (read the Readme's for crying out loud!) but some people are just too impatient or dumb to figure anything out. It's good that you're taking in whatever you can; that's what I did when I got here. The search tool, when used properly, is the best tool available to anyone looking for an answer. It could and should cut down on almost all questions being asked. Anyways, when installing mods, make sure everything's compressed correctly, or use Kraw's installer, which compresses stuff automatically. Have fun playing! JoeyMcM93
KG said it all. It is mostly rosters that cause crashes because of different models.big files then the rosters are made with.
atrain3868
KG said it all. It is mostly rosters that cause crashes because of different models.big files then the rosters are made with. So as long as I use the Ultimate Rosters (which from other threads looks to be what big shmooz's models.big is designed for) I shouldn't have problems resulting from new modded rosters? I realize the reading the readme files and proper installation is of the utmost importance but I did notice that many of the crashing issues are a result of roster/models.big issues. kgbaseball
UR works great, except for random crashes with the Marlins, which I'm all too familiar with. Other than that, flawless. :D

SwinginSoriano
Well, Soriano's roster seems to crash after a few games in dynasty/owner mode, but I guess turning CPU Trades on or off fixes that problem. That case seems to be the most common with the .sav rosters. I don't see as much complaints about crashing lately, unless people gave up. :p
