Egarim
I've had the game since the day it came out for Xbox and still play every day. I just got a copy for windows from a friend who doesnt play anymore. I havent installed any patches yet because I thought I remembered hearing about some sort of problem with the final patch causing games to crash for people. Is that true and if so is there a fix? Also, I havent really followed the modding scene at all so what would you say are the must have mods, top rosters etc. I play on a widescreen laptop with a resolution of 1280x800. The max resolution in game is 1024x768. Is there anyway to use custom resolutions? One last thing. I dont have a gamepad yet, so for now I'll just sim, but I was thinking about getting an Xbox360 controller. I dont currently have a 360 either but will probably get one in the future so that's one reason and another is I'm already used to the setup and feel on a xbox controller. Is there any reason I shouldnt get a 360 controller or are there any other gamepads that will work better for MVP05? Think that's it for now. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Totte
Welcome to the boards! Download and install the official patches by EA. You'll find them in the download section here at the site. Download the MVP06 Beta mod. Download the Universal Grass Changer. Download Trues FOX Sports overlay. Download Ultimate Rosters v.6.3 Plus Edition AND models.big Lite by Big Shmooz. That's a good start!
Totte
I almost forgot: I play the game with a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad. It's a copy of the ps2 controller and it works great with the game.
RedSoxFox7
I almost forgot: I play the game with a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad. It's a copy of the ps2 controller and it works great with the game. Forget the Dual Action. It doesn't rumble and it's a piece of trash that will eventually lose calibration. Get a Logitech Rumblepad 2, or one of these from your local RadioShack if you've already got a PS2 w/ controllers. I also hear the 360 controllers work quite well, but I don't have any direct experience with them.
aukevin
I also recommend edm's Batter Walkup music if you want a wide variety of music when your batter comes to the plate. Also, check out some of the newsest stadiums released like Pirate's Busch Stadium and O's Orioles' stadium. There's also updated Dodgers and Giants stadiums as well. Egarim
I've run into a little problem. I've installed everything that Totte mentioned (Thanks Totte) but now the faces on most of the players are messed up. Here are two examples: This is supposed to be Jhonny Peralta -> Pic 1 And this is supposed to be Mark Teixeira -> Pic 2 Peralta is the worst I've seen. Most faces are like Teixeria with stretched eyes, or sometimes even 2 set of eyes, one on top of the other. There are a few faces here and there that are fine. I'm guessing I did something stupid when I installed MVP06 and Ultimate Rosters v.6.3 Plus Edition?

I'm guessing I did something stupid when I installed MVP06 and Ultimate Rosters v.6.3 Plus Edition? Did you install the patches? Regarding Teixeira's face, I had that issue myself when I'd just bought the game and were playin' it on a mediocre computer. I donwloaded a program called "3D Analyze 2.0" and it solved everything (note that you MUST have the 2.0 edition). Here's what you do with the program (step-by-step): instead of - countdown for disable rendering/disable state swiches in seconds -> 10 set it to - 0 instead of 10 also in "remove stuttering" check performance mode! this game is starting to look beautiful. Click select a exe/bat file. Go to mvp2005 dir look for the created bat file and right click and select create a shortcut. You can move that shortcut to your desktop. Double click your shortcut exe/bat and the game should load. In the BAT File, you probably need to put the EXE run command in quotes, eg: "C:Documents and SettingsJoe BlowDesktop3d analyze3DAnalyze.exe " /EXE=C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005mvp2005.exe /DLL=C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005 (since it's a dos-based run command) On the front page of 3D Analyze 2.0, look on the lower right side and click "save bat file". It's saved in the main dir of MVP 2005 folder. From there right click the bat file and scroll down the menu a click where it says "Create Shortcut". Now drag your newly created shortcut on to your desktop and rename it MVP Baseball 2005. You can also change the icon to MVP baseball 2005 by right clicking the bat file and scroll down the menu a click where it says "Properties". On properties page look on the bottom and find "change icon", click and browse to the mvp baseball 2005 folder and use the icon in that folder. When done, double click your newly created shortcut from your desktop and MVP Baseball 2005, DOS command and 3D Analyze 2.0 should load up. BTW: Make sure you have Disk 2 of MVP Baseball 2005 in your CDROM drive. ++Notice: Video Option-> Helmet Reflections Must Off!!!!
