kgbaseball
I just thought this was interesting. Jeff Kent came up in the bottom half of the 2nd inning, and his batting average was more than his on base percentage, which is impossible obviously. As you can see, his BA was .390 and his OBP was .381. What's interesting is that he grounded out that at bat; I then checked the Box Score, and his average went down to .381, the same as his OBP before that at bat. So did MVP predict that Kent would make an out before it happened? :?: I'm not going anywhere with this, just thought it was interesting.
Sarginto
He probably hit a sac fly before... Sac flies count against OBP, but not AVG.
kgbaseball
Ahh, I never knew that sac flies counted against OBP but not BA; thanks Sarg Well, I knew they didn't affect BA, but I never thought they would influence OBP, either.
JoeyMcM93
I was thinking the same as Sarginto. I believe sacrifice bunts are the same too; but Kent wouldn't do a sacrifice bunt.

tywiggins
Here are the numbers that would get those results: 16 Hits 41 AB 42 Plate Appearances 0 Walks 1 Sacrifice Avg = 16/41 = .390 OBP = 16/42 = .381 After the groundout: 16 Hits 42 AB 43 Plate Appearances 0 Walks 1 Sacrifice Avg = 16/42 = .381 OBP = 16/43 = .

chakfu
Back in front page sports baseball pro the future was predetermined - I used to experiment like this: I'd save my game when I'd be up to bat - the pitch would come, and I'd hit it to LF or whatever....then I'd turn the computer off and reload the saved game. Without fail, I would get the same pitch and hit the exact same hit to the same spot in LF. This was on arcade mode, controlling the batting manually...
