cpu vs cpu datafile or sliders?

i definitely seem to be in the minority here. I play manage only mode/ cpu vs cpu. Everyone has their preference, but to me i dont' want to beat the computer because i'm good at hitting the buttons. Nothing wrong with that, but i've been hooked on Manage only since bbpro 98.

the only problem is that there don't seem to be any slider settings or datafiles available for this style of play. I have, so far, been unable to achieve realistic statistics/gameplay through tweaking of my own. my team is last in pitching and first in hitting. About 40 games into the season i have scored (watched my team score) twice as many runs as any other team and have given up roughly twice as many runs. obviously something is wrong....

any suggestions?

It is a waste of time. Give it up now or you will go insane. I too like to just manage/GM, but this game is not designed for that. Sliders will do nothing. I don't even know why one has the option of cpu vs cpu. I spent months trying to get it within range, and nothing worked. Unless someone can figure out a relationship between the datafile and AI cpu vs cpu logic it is useless.

Try All Star Mode. CPU Ball rate -10 CPU Pitch Control +40 CPU Contact -40 CPU Foul ball +50. CPU Steal rate -50 (runners never steal unless you make them) Pitch fatigue -20. CPU iF Speed+9 OF Speed +9. CPU Steal speed + steal delay -5.Formula for contact on each batter AB Div. Ks = contact. Hitting or power Slg % x.750-300 Div 5 +30.5= Power for that batter. Both seem low but stats come out good for me. There is way too much contact and power otherwise. Forgot CPU Swing rate -40. if not swing way too much. This should work for you because i play manage only mode CPU vs CPU, only way I play. Used to play High Heat , BBpro 98 and Hard Ball 5. Do you know if 94 season is available for xbox yet MVP 05? Let me know how this works.

i too do a gm mode with the white sox, i love watching the cpu vs cpu , you might want to try mvp mode while doin that though, i lowered the cpu contact to -50 and the cpu swing frequency to +10, i m seeing alot of swings and misses with that set up, even pitches out of the strike zone. Also you might want to up you cpu foul ball freq to +50. More foul balls means a better chance of you getting a strike out and also quicker pitcher fatigue. with this set up say for instance Mark Burle has i think a 91 stamina rate , so by the 7th or 8th inning if he throw alot of pitches due to foul ball being included you can maybe start to get to him, baring he s pitched well enough to get that far. Fielding i got cpu outfield speed at -40 and cpu inf speed -25 , im seeing some tremendous outfield catches from some of the more speedier guys like Ichiro or Posednik. Also saw a ball go right over Posedniks head a few times depending on who hit it. there seems to be a nice balance there. Throwing accuracy cpu -25 and cpu catch errors +50 been getting 1 or 2 error a game with that. you ll see the occasional throw away or maybe a short stop slinging the ball into the dugout on a attempted doubleplay. The only thing i really haven t seen and something im trying to work on is the occasion Gem pitched by on of my pitchers , you know the 10 or 12 strikeout complete game , and i have yet to see a shut out so i ll tinker alil more to see what i can do to make this happen. Let me know how all these setting work out for you if you try them. But i do believe the data files work with cpu vs cpu.
