mrsalsays
i had 256mb of ram and a Geforce 4ti4200 videocard and ive played counter strike source and mvp baseball 2005 on my pc.. i upgraded to 1GB of ram and a Geforce 6800 OC 128mb card and no matter what game i play it will just cancel out to desktop about 5-10 minutes into it. i figured it was my new card and my comp was getting alittle too hott so i opened up the case and put a high powered desk fan facing into it and tried playing the game and still the game closed out to desktop 10 minutes into running it whats my problem? snepp
If you added a video card like that and didn't upgrade your power supply, that's the likely cause of your problems (psu = power supply unit).

Lucas
+ i have a 350WATT powersupply the videocard requires 300 watts i think the power supply needs to be less.. at 300, unless 300watts for the VC is a minimum. OR... your PC isnt configured properly for the VC.
big shmooz
mrsalsays, I would recommend at least a 450 watt power supply. Even better would be 500 watts. They are not expensive. Reconnecting things though can be a hassle, but that's what upgrading is all about. I built my whole computer from scratch.
snepp
You can test your memory by running a program like memtest86. Odds are that 350 watt psu in your system is a generic POS. Wattage is overrated anyway, the most important factor when looking at a psu is the current that it provides. Oh, and bigger isn't always better. A quality 400 watt psu will blow the doors off a cheap 600 watt psu every day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
