JeffMerr
I have been browsing the website and it seems like everytime i enter a thread i find out about some new mod or something that people are changing or adding to their MVP 2005. I was hoping there was a tutorial or something that tells me everything i need to install and in what order to make my outdated MVP 2005 the updated MVP 2006 mod one that people seem to be using on this site. I went into the files section and searched around but there are so many different files and i have no clue what some of them do, i havn't done anything to my MVP 2005 yet, can anyone help? Totte
Start off by installing the patches by EA.
meatyfrog
I fall into the same category as Jeff. I have been checking in daily, going over old forums, but there really isn't a guide to get me up to speed. I went out and bought a new computer so that I could fully enjoy this new mod. UncleMo
I went into the files section and searched around but there are so many different files and i have no clue what some of them do, 1. There should be a description for the mod before you dl it. Read that. 2. To you both there are two 3 things you can do a. download the full version of MVP 06 when it comes out. Due date is not set yet. b. download MVP 06 now and take those files and put them into your MVP 05 folders to update that. That alone did some stuff for me. c. browse the downloads section and try this and that and see what you like. You both should start with this, I strongly recommend: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Down...details&id=3031 http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Down...details&id=2945 http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Down...details&id=2987 And look for spitoons bat selector and mlb ball if you want some great mods. All of these are my "must haves" and I recommend them to ANYONE. Again, some or most of this above will be in mvp 06 if you don't want to do this piece by piece. snepp
There isn't much to say really, basically it boils down to this. 1. Install game 2. Install patch 3 3. Install MVP'06 mod 4. Optional (updated rosters, grass changer) 5. Play game Now, you'll probably want a newer roster set than what is included with the 06 mod. If you do, download either the Ultimate Rosters, or Swinginsoriano's. Each of these roster sets contain two different versions, a standard (which will work fine with MVP06) and a plus (which will require an updated models.big file). If you choose to use the plus version, download Shmooz's Models.big. If you run into trouble, read the documentation that comes with the mod. aukevin
1. Install MVP 2005 2. Install EA patches #3 and #5, both found in downloads section 3. Download and install the MVP 06 mod from the downloads section (Under the MVP 2005 section) 4. Download a roster set, either the latest UR Plus release or Swingin Sorianos and be sure to grab one of big schmooz's models.big (Mosers, Umachines, or LITE it doesn't matter but you need one). 5. Look in the stadium downloads and get the recent ones. Busch Stadium, Dodger, Dolphin, and the Orioles stadium are some off the top of my head that have been updated since the 06 beta mod release. That will give you the 06 mod with the latest rosters with the cyberface IDs in place. From that point, just look around the downloads section and find cool stuff you want. I recommend to grab some of the Portraits released so a lot of players that moved over the offseason will have the right hats on. I also like the KCCitystars uniforms (1.08 is the latest I believe). You also should get the latest Total Audio (.61 I think). You might want to grab some overlays like the FOX, FSNs, and ESPN ones, and other ones you like. A lot of people also like to have the universal grass changer mod to take some shinyness out of the fields. Check out the audio section for some cool stuff. There is a batter walkup mod by edm that I love as well as Uncle Mo's best audio mod. Both add a lot to the game. I'd also recommend you checking out the tools section for some stuff to make life easier. Kraw's installer thingy is very handy for installing mods as well as SharpShooter's TV Network Selector tool. Those are just some of the mods I really like, but to just get the "06 mod going" I think the 1-5 up above is what you need. Everything else is up to your own personal taste. espithaca
All right, so I thought I had everything figured out... And then my hard drive died on me and the nice set up I had for the game disappeared on me and I'm having trouble duplicating my earlier successes, namely, sliders and datafiles. Currently I'm installing MLB06 ILF, patch 5, UR 6.4 and considering MDs Datafile v3.1... Suggestions as to what else I should add? Also, I seem to recall someone had some really good slider set ups, but now I can't remember what thread they were in. So do you all have any suggestions for that as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
snepp
Hoop27's sliders are pretty solid, doing a forum search for hoop27 and sliders will find them in a hurry.

meatyfrog
I have tried everything and cannnot get this to run. I had used LL on my last computer and everything worked fine with roster 6.2. Now I have to use ILF since it's the only one available. I keep doing reinstalls with patch 3 and 5. ILF and roster 6.4 and Big.lite. The game crashed if I begin a dynasty or a minigame. My rig is a Intel 4 3.0, 2GB, ATI 1800. I guess I will have to wait and home the final version will save my ash.
Zelda55
it's because shmooz has released his models.big for ultimate rosters 6.5+ already, but these rosters haven't even come out yet...to make matters worse, the shmooz models.big for the ultimate rosters 6.4+ are not included in the zip file, and i'm fairly sure it's no longer in the downloads section (the models.big i mean)...this is screwing things up for everybody who just recently downloaded the ultimate rosters 6.4+. it can be fixed if totte releases the 6.5+ soon to match the models.big that's up right now for 6.5+. Zelda55
wait until the UR 6.5+ comes out (it should be out later today)...hopefully once we install that with the 6.5+ models.big by shmooz, it all works out.
Zelda55
ok, i can confirm that this was the problem...shmooz released his models.big prematurely, but now if you use the 6.5+ rosters with the 6.5+ models.big, it works fine.
