SkywayTA
A friend and I play mvp 2005 over direct ip play. I have a router at home and I cant seem to host. My router assigns me an ip of something like 192.68.1.1 , but if I go to ip chicken website it tells me my real ip number. A friend tried to connect to my real ip, and the 192.168.1.1 ip and he cant connect to either. My question is , How do i host a direct ip game with my router :?: :!: :?:
snepp
You have to setup port forwarding. The ports MVP uses are... TCP: 80 and 443 UDP: 10001 Checkout this site, find your router model, it'll give you a short step-by-step on how to set it up. http://www.portforward.com/english/routers...routerindex.htm

Gordo
You have to setup port forwarding. The ports MVP uses are... So then once the port nos. are set up correctly, I assume the joining party comes in and uses the dynamic IP, no the static 192.68.1.1. So does one set the range as 80 TO 443 .... or.... set it 80-80 and 143-143?? edit: nm, that link above was great! thx!
