Can Recieve, But Not Send Mail in Outlook

I am using Microsoft Outlook Express, and am having email troubles. I can recieve mail, but can't send it. Does anybody here have any clue as to why this is? This is a big problem for me and I'd like to fix it as soon as possible.

First of all, don't you think that this is the wrong place to bring this subject up? Like wouldn't it be better in a microsoft forum of some kind?

But to try and answer your question with what limited knowledge I have, usually that is a problem with your settings in outlook express as you know the connection works because you can send.

usually it is a problem with the outgoing smtp, dns, those sort of settings. That's about as much help as I can give you, but if you do a search on google for the problem, I bet you will find plenty of things you can try to get your problem resolved.

Was it working previously, without you changing any settings? If so, contact your outgoing mail provider. Chances are they've screwed something up.

As MarkB asked, depends on whether it has worked before or not. If this is a new setup it's likely that your ISP requires authentication in order to send.
