Help Hitting

I cannot seem to hit for power. I don't have a controller for the PC game and the manual says use number pad 8 to hit for an uppercut swing. Everytime I do that my runners either attempt to steal or my batter will hit a line drive and automatically go for a double. Is there anyway to hit for power, my team has like 2 homers and i'm 20 games into the season. Thanks.

Hi there. Well, I feel your pain. Unfortunately, all I can tell you is, you need a game controller. Any sort of sports game will drive you nuts without it. But in attempting to answer your question, timing is the main thing. Key # 8 merely suggests that you would hit the ball upwards, but you still need the right timing to get the most out of the pitch and therefore POWER. You just have a whole lot more control with a gamepad. Everything is much smoother. Also, the manual is right in the sense of # 8 key means pull the ball, but if you're early or late, that thing won't leave the park :wink:
