cybernetic
I'm restarting the dynasty and I have my MVP actually set to '06 with the right schedule and everything this time. Opening day roster: Rotation: Halladay Burnett Lilly Chacin Towers Pen: LR-Downs MR-Frasor MR-Rosario MR-Walker Loogy-Schoeneweis SU-Speier CP-Ryan Lineup vs. RH Rios, RF Catalanotto, LF Wells, CF Glaus, 3B Overbay, 1B Hillenbrand, DH Molina, C Hill, 2B Adams, SS vs. LH Rios, RF Johnson, LF Wells, CF Glaus, 3B Hillenbrand, DH Molina, C Overbay, 1B Hill, 2B McDonald, SS Bench: Johnson, OF McDonald, SS/2B/3B Zaun, C Hinske, 1B/RF Mods: UR 6.5 plus with the correct Big Shmooz w/ Umachines unis I used tywiggins dat exporter to move the year up to 2006 and use the accurate stats MD's datafile some other minor mods such as progression v3, gloves, etc. I also edited some sliders to make the hitting more realistic I'll start on Pro but if it gets too easy I'll move up to All-Star I'll start playing tomorrow evening My main goal is to make the playoffs, anything else is extra. I'll only make moves for guys on the trading block (rarely otherwise) and fair trades are on. If an offer comes up that blows me away I'll take it but I won't make many trades. In off-season I'll judge guys on their progress, decide if I'll re-sign them, trade them and in the case of minor leaguers if I want to move them up or not. cybernetic
Santana Shuts Down Jays April 4th, 2006 - Game 1 of 162 Game 1 of 3: Minnesota Twins (0-0) @ Toronto Blue Jays (0-0) Minnesota Twins 4, Toronto Blue Jays 0 Above: Torii Hunter hits a solo HR in the 6th inning. Right: Johan Santana does a fist pump after getting the shutout. On a night when the Jays ace Roy Halladay wasn't particularily sharp, Twins ace Johan Santana was. He was completely dominant keeping the Jays bats to just two hits in the game and not allowing runner to even get to second base. He threw a complete game two-hit shutout. The Twins opened the scoring in the 2nd with Lew Ford hitting an RBI-single with runners on first and third. The next batter, Shannon Stewart, would then clear the bases with a two-run double to right-center to make it 3-0. They would add another on a Torii Hunter solo home run in the 6th and take the game 4-0. Roy Halladay would go six innings surrendering four runs on eight hits while walking a batter and striking out five. Johan Santana struck out eight batters in the game. Clubhouse Talk: "I just didn't have it today, my pitches were not as crisp as usual and they were taking advantage of it. I didn't have my usual velocity on my fastball." - Roy Halladay Transactions: None Outlook: Jays hope to even their record in the middle game of season opening series against the Twins. A.J. cybernetic
Jays Pound Twins to Even Record April 5th, 2006 - Game 2 of 162 Game 2 of 3: Minnesota Twins (1-0) @ Toronto Blue Jays (0-1) Toronto Blue Jays 9, Minnesota Twins 5 Above: Aaron Hill rounds 1st after a bases clearing double in the 4th. Right: Troy Glaus touches home plate after hitting the first Jays homer of the season. The Jays got things started early with Frank Catalanotto hitting an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the 1st. The play was actually ruled as an error to left-fielder Shannon Stewart as he missed a diving catch to allow the ball to kick along the wall. The Twins didn't take long to tie the game, Jason Bartlett singled in the tying run in the top of the 2nd. The Twins would then take the lead in the 4th on a 2-run single off the bat of Shannon Stewart. The lead would be short-lived though, Aaron Hill hit a double with the bases loaded in the frame to give the Jays back a one-run lead. Alex Rios would the score him to make it 6-4. In the 5th, the Jays would continue to hammer Twins starter Brad Radke as they scored two more times in the bottom of the 5th to make it 8-4 and spell the end of his day. He would go just 4 1/3 innings allowing 7 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits with 2 strikeouts. Reliever Scott Baker got the Twins out of the inning without further damage but served up a 2-run blast to Troy Glaus in the 6th giving the Jays a 9-3 lead. The Twins would add two in the later innings to make the final 9-5. A.J. Burnett was good but not spectacular in his Blue Jays debut going 6 1/3 innings. He surrended 4 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits, walked a pair and struck out six for the win (1-0). Clubhouse Talk: "We were due to bust out offensively after how badly we stunk up the place last night against Santana." - John Gibbons Transactions: None Outlook: The Jays send lefty Ted Lilly to the hill in the rubber match of the series. cybernetic
Lilly, Jays Double Up on Twins April 6th, 2006 - Game 3 of 162 Game 3 of 3: Minnesota Twins (1-1) @ Toronto Blue Jays (1-1) Toronto Blue Jays 6, Minnesota Twins 3 Above: Alex Rios rounds 1st after an opposite field home run in the 3rd. Right: Shannon Stewart robs Aaron Hill of extra-bases in the 4th. Things started off slowly as both teams combined for 1-hit through 2 1/5 innings. Alex Rios had the lone hit for either team, a single to lead off the game. The Jays would open the scoring though in the bottom of the 3rd as Alex Rios lined an opposite field shot over the right-field wall, his first of the season. Ted Lilly would return to the hill for the top of the 4th having retired all nine batters he'd faced to that point but would give up a lead-off single to Twins third-baseman Michael Cuddyer, although he'd be left stranded on base. Joe Mauer would be injured on the inning ended double-play and leave the game. The Jays offense would get right back to it in the bottom of the 4th. Russ Adams would drive in a run with an RBI-single to give Lilly and the Jays a 2-0 lead. Aaron Hill would step up with 2 on and 2 out and drive left-fielder Shannon Stewart to the wall. Stewart would scale the wall and rob Hill of extra-bases to end the frame. The Twins would finally get on the board with a solo homer (1) by shortstop Jason Bartlett with 2 outs in the 5th. In the 7th, the Jays offense would get at starter Carlos Silva again. Bengie Molina would lead-off with a single up the middle. Eric Hinske came in to run for him and he'd eventually score on a sac-fly by Alex Rios. Frank Catalanotto and Vernon Wells would also drive in a run a-piece in the inning to make it 5-1. Gregg Zaun would then replace Molina defensively in the 8th. He'd also homer (1) in the bottom of the 8th to make it 6-1. The Twins would make it interesting, scoring twice on a 2-run double off the bat of Michael Cuddyer but that would be as close as it would get as the chase took the game 6-3 and the series 2-1. Ted Lilly would be the winner (1-0) going 8 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, walking one and striking out 6 Twins. Carlos Silva got the loss (0-1) going 6 2/3 and allowing 5 runs on 10 hits in the game. Clubhouse Talk: "Lilly was really dealing it and making their hitters look foolish." - John Gibbons Transactions: Twins place C Joe Mauer on the 15-day DL (forearm). Jays place AA SS Raul Tablado on the 60-day DL (knee). Outlook: The Jays welcome the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for a 3-game weekend set. cybernetic
Jays Continue Struggles Against D-Rays April 8th, 2006 - Game 5 of 162 Game 2 of 3: Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1-3) @ Toronto Blue Jays (2-2) Tampa Bay Devil Rays 7, Toronto Blue Jays 1 Above: Hillenbrand rounds the bases after a 5th inning home run (1). Right: Marcos Carvajal does a fist pump after the victory. The game started off slowly and was running smoothly until the 2nd inning. Both teams had a couple hits but neither had scored yet. Gustavo Chacin hit Toby Hall with a fastball in the leg and he took exception it, charging the mound. A benches clearly brawl would insue with Hall being ejected from the game. Rookie Shawn Riggans would then make his major league debut behind the plate for the next inning. In the 4th, everythnig would unravel for Chacin as his pitches started to go flat. Shawn Riggans in his first major league at-bat would hit an RBI double to the right-center field gap. He would then score as the next batter, Nick Green hit a 2-run home run (1). Chacin would return for the 5th and promptly give up a home run to Jorge Cantu (1). He would then be lifted for Scott Downs who would throw 2 scoreless innings in relief. 3 of Chacin's 4 runs allowed would be unearned as an error with 2-out ended up proving costly and leading to 3 runs. With the score 4-0 now, Shea Hillenbrand would step up in the bottom of the 5th and hit a solo HR (1) to put the Jays on the board. In the 8th, rookie Francisco Rosario was throwing pretty well but gave up a couple hits and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. He would give up a deep fly ball to Nick Green that would score the runner on 3rd and that would be it for him. The other runner would also eventually score off a single from Sean Burroughs. In the 9th, Jonny Gomes would score on an error by shortstop Russ Adams to make it 7-1. The Jays would get the bases loaded with 1 out in the 9th but failed to score as both hitters struck out at the hands of Marcos Carvajal. Gustavo Chacin would pick up the loss (0-1) going 4 1/3 innings. He gave up 4 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out 2. Doug Waechter got the win for the D-Rays (1-0) going 8 strong giving up 10 hits and just one run. The story of the game was the poor fielding and lack of ability to cash in runners on base, much like the story of the series opener as well. Clubhouse Talk: "We gotta straighten out our problems in the field soon or we're going to fall out of the division really fast." - John Gibbons Transactions: None. cybernetic
Halladay gets it done as Jays avert sweep April 9th, 2006 - Game 6 of 162 Game 3 of 3: Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2-3) @ Toronto Blue Jays (2-3) Toronto Blue Jays 8, Tampa Bay Devil Rays 2 Above: Vernon Wells belts a 2nd deck HR(2) in the 4th. Right: Bengie Molina rounds the bases after a 6th inning 3-run shot (1). For the first three innings of the game, both pitchers were on their games. Scott Kazmir had retired his first 9 batters and Halladay had retired 12. After retiring his 10th and 11th batters easily, Vernon Wells stepped up and belted a long HR(2) into the 2nd deck to open the scoring and break up the no-hit bid. The Jays would fail to get anything else going in that inning. Halladay would get into his first bit of trouble in the 5th. He would bean Nick Green with an inside fastball to lead off the inning. He would eventually score on a sac-fly by Rocco Baldelli. Jorge Cantu would also drive in a run in the inning with a single to give the Rays a 2-1 lead that was very short-lived. In the bottom of the frame, Reed Johnson would get on with a lead-off single and come around to score an a double by Vernon Wells to tie the game at 2. The Devil Rays would then opt to intentionally walk Troy Glaus to face Bengie Molina with 2 runners on and 1 out. That would prove extremely costly as Molina would take Kazmir out deep to center field to blow the game open and give the Jays a 5-2 lead. Reed Johnson would drive in a run with a single up the middle in the 7th. Shea Hillenbrand would also drive in a pair of runs with a double in the 8th as the Jays took the game 8-2. Roy Halladay would go 8 innings in the win (1-1) allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits, walking a batter and striking out 9. Scott Kazmir struggled in the loss (0-1) although he did go 7 innings, he gave up 6 runs on 9 hits. Clubhouse Talk: "It's feels great when you have a guy like Doc pitching. It makes you feel like it's an automatic win." - Bengie Molina Transactions: Jays place OF Justin Singleton (AAA) on the 15-day DL (hamstring). cybernetic
The game is crashing now I don't know why against Boston.. I'm downloading a stadium mod now for Fenway Park. For some reason I think it's the Dustin Pedroia cyberface but I don't know for sure. The problem is that they don't have anybody else on their roster that can play SS so I can't just make him sit out.

Right: Jays players converge in the infield following the win. The Red Sox opened the scoring with an RBI(4)-single by Manny Ramirez in the bottom of the 1st off Jays starter Josh Towers. The Jays would answer, however, with a solo home run (1) off the bat of Lyle Overbay in the top of the 2nd. The Jays would then take the lead in the 3rd on a 2-run (4) double from Frank Catalanotto. In the 5th, Kevin Youkillis would make it interesting with a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-2. Red Sox manager Terry Francona was also ejected in the 8th for arguing a safe call on an Alex Rios stolen base. Vernon Wells would attone for his 5th inning error and hit his 5th home run (5) in the last 6 games, another solo shot, in the 8th. The Jays bullpen would shut the door pitching the final 2 2/3 innings of shutout ball. B.J. Ryan picked up his 3rd save in a 1-2-3 9th.
