TheProdigy
Alright, I don't need help with anything, but then again, I do. Which datafile do you reccomend, the perfect one. I really don't want to go through all of them because I'll be using them for Xbox, but which one do you use ? Anyone
ragamuffindaniel
i use MD's 3.1 datafile.... but im considering one of the newer ones due to the large amount of HR which are usually always 400 plus feet.
NCMALEN
Hey ragamuffin, quick install question if you know the answer. I also just starting using MD's version 3.1, and am just wondering if the datafile.txt document that's placed in the "data" folder is supposed to prompt to overwrite an existing file? My didn't prompt, so just wondering if I installed it correctly. My pitching meter changed drastically, so I'm guessing it works.
big shmooz
NCMALEN... It will not overwrite the existing file technically, however what it does is, it gets the game to read the file you installed INSTEAD of reading the existing file. In fact if you were to delete the file, the game would then revert back to reading the original datafile. The reason why it did not prompt an overwrite is because the existing file is not located in the data folder. It is located in the datafile folder inside of a file called datafile.big. NCMALEN
Thanks shmooz for the confirmation..I did notice datafile.big, and wanted to make sure the install wasn't supposed to be an overwrite of that. PS- sorry nyj for the hijacked thread!

PS- sorry nyj for the hijacked thread! As I explained, it only takes precedence over the datafile.txt that is located INSIDE the datafile.big. The datafile.big actually contains 460 files in it. & only one of them is the datafile.txt. The datafile.txt would not overwrite the datafile.big even if you had placed it in the datafile folder because it does not have the same name.
