neojonas
I'm done with my first year in my newest Twins dynasty and I've been taking some time to try and figure out EA's logic for contracts. It's time to resign some of my guys. I have Miguel Cabrera on my team who I need to resign. I think his current contract was 1 year/300k. I believe througout the whole year he was asking for 3 year/1.7 mil contract. After the season was over and he was given AL MVP he still wanted only 3 year/ 1.7 mil. That seems very low for an MVP. Does EA figure out contracts only based on age, potential, and previous contract and not take into account actaully statistics? How does EA figure this stuff out? Also I was wondering what your theories are on contract lengths for resigning guys. I would like Cabrera to be a corner stone on my team for a long time so I was trying to figure out how much I'd have to pay him to sign him 4 and 5 years. It seems he would take 4 year/2.6 mil and 5 year/3.9 mil. Do you think this is worth it or should I just do the 3 year/1.7 mil? If EA does only base salaries on age and potential I wonder if after 3 years it wont be a whole lot more to resign him to more years and that'll save me money. Thoughts?
