Mysterious
"...so stick your smartass reply in your ear." Mr. Mysterious, that kind of reply is not going to make you a lot of friends around here. The final version will be released when it is ready to be released and your "suggestion" will not make it happen any quicker. tks, I don't like people taking shots at me... I don't think you would either. He could have made his point without the shot..... as I said, I wasn't complaining... just making a suggestion & asking a question.... jumping on someone for that isn't very "friendly" so I'm not the only person who wasn't polite. Looking forward to the eventual final release. PS: How did EA "lose" its MLB license? Someone said that in another thread
junglecub
i understand where Mysterious is coming from. it's very hard to wait for something that will be so good. and when anyone asked or suggest something someone smarts off. i live by the rule my grandma taught me: 1) if u cant say something nice, dont say anything at all and 2) treat others the way u would want to be treated. rows24
It just would be nice now that its almost done that we could have an exact date if the time frame could be estimated. You know like EA did when MVP 05 was coming out, in stores March 3, 2005. The dilema is with the beta version, Im playing a season or dynasty, You hate to get to deep into it then the finasl version comes out and you have to start all over again. So you want to wait but than you dont want to keep playing exhibtion games. I dont know about you guys but I dont simulate any games in my dynasty. junglecub
i hear you. i myself dont even play my mvp anymore. didnt want to exactly what your talking about. so ive been playing mvp 06 on my playstation2. its not as good but it'll get me thru till this mod comes out so i can play my pc game again
Totte
let the modders do what they do, they are the ones putting in hours upon hours of their time that will benefit everyone. you complaining about release dates does not benefit anyone in this community. if they wanted to release another beta they would have done it. Thanks :)
JoeyMcM93
True that. The modders are awesome, without them there is no MVPmods.

maddux31
JoeyMc, I don't think, or I should hope nobody thinks it won't be worth it. Like orginally posted, it would be nice just for one of the modders to post a update every once in awhile. I think the MAJORITY of people here have been very patient, I think their just eager like the rest of us. At first, the final was to be released on opening day, so take it for what it's worth, people are just excited, hopefuly you can appreciate that. I know I am very excited....I even went out and bought another GIG of speed ram, and a new video card Nvidia 7800GSOC AGP, awesome card!!
minmaster
when i first found out about this mod few months ago, many people on this site made it seem like it would be done around april, when the season began. so naturally, when it isnt released many people are gonna wonder whats going on. especially the newbies and people who dont check the site everyday wont know exactly whats going on, so i think its more necessary to give people a progress update and an updated ETA. i know the question gets old for the old timers on this forum, but sometimes it helps to give a quick honest answer than to point people to other threads and sending them off on a answer finding mission or being ultra sensitive and unhelpful. to alleviate some of this, why not create a sticky with MVP06 progress update and ETA? of course, the modders can take all the time they want, but they should let the waiting public know whats going on. after all, this site is mvpmods and i think "its done when its done" attitude goes against the community that supports mvpmods.com. Batter-up
To me, They work with each player the anouncer+uniforms+cyber faces+portrait+statiums and alot more things and families. I give them alot of credit to put there heart in a game we all love and that's why we come here to make our game the best baseball experience there is. Thank you modders your the best! jrlocke
Nothing against Totte and Hory and all the other modders workin on MVP 06 mod but I completly agree with Mysterious's question.... Why not just release everything that is done already in another updated beta? I just don't get what the big deal is. I have seen alot of EGOS in the modding business. I have been around boards from Operation Sports to NBA Live Series Central to the old High Heat site to here and it never ceases to amaze me how many modders get this superiority complex......its fine if you want to share this stuff but I don't see the need for the production and the holding out....it is a very real possibility that by the time Hory gets finished with the portraits most others will have lost interest in MVP Baseball and gone on to NCAA football or Madden...etc I am moving in June and starting a new job and I only have so much time to play this game. Waiting for a release in two weeks or however long basically equals that I will not get to play the updated game. Now its fine if you feel that its my loss or whatever but I don't think that this community was built with that type of spirit behind it....this site is about sharing and the amount of donations that keep this site going is truly amazing. I hope you guys will understand that we all appreciate your work but it seems that this is just grandstanding and holding out for the purpose of what???? snepp
You put up an updated beta now, everyone and their dog will download it, then re-download the final all over again later. Who cares if a modder forms a "superiority complex" or not? This is the internet, not real life, and there are more important things to worry about. If a coworker has one, there might be a problem. But here? It's a non-issue. If someone is going to lose interest in baseball this early in the season what do they need any mods for? 06 isn't a play and forget mod, it's being put together for the long haul, not as some quick-fix, IMHO. Grandstanding? Please....
Totte
Why not just release everything that is done already in another updated beta? We've said all along that the next version would be the Final version. It wouldn't be final if it wasn't complete would it?
Yankee4Life
We've said all along that the next version would be the Final version. It wouldn't be final if it wasn't complete would it? You guys just take your time Totte, this will be worth the wait. Some of these people don't care to wait and really that's too bad. You put up an updated beta now, everyone and their dog will download it, then re-download the final all over again later. Not to mention that it will flood the server again. It is best to wait until everything is done.
tks
I more or less have kept out of any "debate" about releasing the "final" version but I cannot believe some of the complaints I am reading. ...don't have time to wait. ...have to be done by a certain time so I can play other sims. ...egos are getting in the way of releasing what is complete. ...want to be done before school starts. ...on and on and on. Goodness, people if you don't have "time to wait" then play the beta version. It contains just about anything you might need and things that need updating (like rosters) can be done rather easily by yourself if you can't wait for the final version. Also there are other downloads relating to roster updates as well as stadiums, faces, uniforms, etc. If you can't wait...then I suggest you make an effort to download what you want to make your own "final" version. This is no big deal people....Relax and wait.....or...do it yourself. It is really that simple.
maddux31
I completely agree! I don't want a unfinished final..That's why we have the beta..I just simply started this thread to see if there was any time frame wether it was 2 more days, or 2 more months. I want the final to be FINAL! All I was simply looking for was a time frame, not a early un- completed release or so I can play Madden or anything like that, I for one am simply baseball and nothing else, and if school starts, I'll make time. So anyone who wants a unfinished product, all your looking for is another thing to complain about, if not, you will.
tks
[ Maybe you have trouble reading. I just stated that I am playing the beta. Get over it. Take a PMS pill Alice Nice friendly response. Thank you.
jrlocke
Well its not that I am impatient....it is that I know I won't be able to play the Final version. I have these 3 weeks and then I won't have a PC until around October....so I either get my season in now or I don't play the game. My comment about the egos of modders comes from many experiences beyond this "debate"...most notably back with NBA Live 2000. I don't care about the FINAL because they have already said everything is done but the pictures....I was trying to make the arguement that since everything else is done on everyones end but Hory(or whoever else is doing portraits) then why not release it now for those few of us who want it now??? We don't care about the FINAL we want the files you have now which to my knowledge just need to be packaged up and uploaded. So we can play with the 06 season. To me its like someone saying you can't have the ribs burgers and hot dogs yet because someone didn't bring the potato chips to the barbeque.... I am not mad at anybody...I am just asking if you guys could help me out and release what you got now....you guys said no....seems a little childish to me. joshua444
I've felt the exact same way for a while now jr..and i've wrote a few responces to the same effect. Pretty much when modders hinted that the game is done just the only thing missing are the portraits, and again portraits aren't that important its nice to look at but after that its not a big deal. And its true that people will lose intrest, and some of these modder's actions aren't that of a community...more like we have to turn around and take it from behind. But what can you do...i'll turn around...cause i like my baseball.
tks
stealth2920... I understand perfectly what you said. What I didn't appreciate was how you stated your response. What bothers me is these guys involved in the final version are doing this strictly for our benefit.....They are not demanding anything from us. They are doing the final version to keep MVP a viable baseball sim and they are completely within their rights to not make this available for download until they are satisfied that it is completed correctly. Yet some request special favors because of various reasons important only to them. Just seems a bit selfish to me and I'm sure you disagree with my evaluation of the situation....but that is how I feel and I don't believe I berated or belittled anyone in stating my position. atrain3868
If I can finally get this game working without issues then I will definately be enjoying this fine mod. However I understand the reasoning for waiting for it to be final. I think that is for the best and this Mod wouldn't be final without the portraits. Personally the portraits to me are not a big deal but that is besides the point. The fact is the folks creating the mod have decided that they want to release the Mod as a complete and finished "final" which I think is great. Now with that being said I do see the benefits to the community to give those who have been patiently waiting some kind of regular update as things progress with the mod. That I do see as something that has been lacking. It is a valid request but I don't think some of these people have asked for this in the proper way and I see where it would easily sound like people complaining or being impatient. I think people need to make sure and take a look how they are asking something and making their opinions felt. Some here seem to know what they mean to ask and I'm sure most have nothing but honest and good intentions but they are not presenting themselves how they mean. That's my view on the situation and hope folks on both sides settle down a bit and remember that we are all looking forward to the same joy that this mod will bring. michaeljjt
I am entitled to my opinion and I really don't give a **** what you appreciate. You couldn't have possibly understood or you would have kept your pie hole shut. You know...if its not one message board, its another. Every single argument always comes back to the same thing. Pie. I think if we all realized this, that we have this wonderful appreciation for pie in common, we would all love each other, and we would all be shoving pie up our pie holes, and enjoying it. (just make mine a chocolate pudding pie, and I am ready to go) Mike
