MVP06 Update?

Ill take a pumpkin pie...lol.

On a serious note, like someone stated before, there are plenty of SEPERATE downloads on the site to make the Beta version as updated as possible. It is not that hard to download and install them. I have been doing this and I am completely satisfied with playing the Beta version.

Guys working on the final, thank you for putting this together, MVP wouldn't be around if it wasn't for you guys. AND thank you for waiting to make it a FINAL verison of MVP 06. Theres no point in releasing it if it isn't finished. Just to let you guys know, I am going to try and throw some money your way within the next couple weeks for all the hard work and time you have put into this!

I am entitled to my opinion and I really don't give a **** what you appreciate. You couldn't have possibly understood or you would have kept your pie hole shut.

Classy response!

Enjoy the game....Time to move on.

The response fits your post. As I stated in two previous posts, I am enjoying the game. I perfectly understand you have a reading issue.

Wow. Is it just me... or is stealth2920 being an enormous, steaming ace-hole? Or maybe I have an ace-hole issue. Ooh. That doesn't sound appetizing.

I believe we are waiting on the portraits to release MVP06. I however don't use it, but I can get all of the mods seperately and make my own rendition of the mod. It's suggested that those who can't seem to wait for the mod to just download whatever has been updated so far and apply it to your game seperately.

Another thing that may be holding the update back is the testing of all the updates to make sure that they are working accordingly. Remember, even though this is an update to MVP Baseball 2005, people will still believe it as a whole new game, not realizing that it uses the MVP 2005 "core", so to speak, and those who have not downloaded the beta but got the full version will post already-discussed threads continuously.

Just give it time, the longer it takes the better the mod will be.

Thats right folks, just chill, as KC said. Plus, the final version will have the dynasty starting in 2006, which is worth the wait.

It will? Wow, last thing I'd heard was that was probably not possible (it was thought you had to edit the .exe)... that's big news to me. Where did you hear that?

Read the thread called .dat importer exporter.

Hey Uncle Mo are boys are starting to play some good ball!

Back on subject...So is there a way then if you completed a 2005

season/dynasty to use those stats in the final 06 release since the

dynasty will start in 06? I doubt it thought I would ask.

Not to mention that it will flood the server again. It is best to wait until everything is done.

Not if you post it updated now... and put the portraits as a separate download (when its ready) for those who didn't want to wait for the full package. Then none of them are re-downloading. And then you can just repackage the final as 1 thing for whomever did decide to wait for 1 package. Thus no excess server overhead... or at least minimal.

You know I'd gladly do this and shut up if someone would give me a list of what is needed to constitute the Final package minus the portraits. "Go look thru d/ls and threads" Yah, yah, I know... but its just too much of a headache (and unrealistic) to read thru 300 pages of threads to figure out what is there when you're not on this site 24/7... and then to find it all in downloads? Geez... it'll take weeks.

I gotta say, all u guys saying "oh, people losing interest is silly... they aren't worth worrying about if they think that way" is really dumb & unrealistic. I & everyone else wanting the package minus portraits understands that if it were not for modders there'd be nothing. We're NOT ungrateful, we get it, we understand the IMMENSE work involved and are VERY thankful to everyone who did anything to create any & all mods. It's amazing generosity on your parts. I applaud you all.

BUT u guys gotta realize too that it likely all u modders guys, and a handful of u guys bashing everyone wanting the 99% done package, are baseball nuts -- in that u likely play nothing but MVP all day, every day, multiple games a day, know the game inside out, and are the type that'll play thru 12 franchise seasons in 1 year. BUT MOST OF US are not... even if we are great baseball fans we have limited time to play weekly, we haven't the time when we do play to play multiple games in a sitting, we have interest in playing other games too, and we're likely to only get thru 1 season playing every game at best, maybe 2.

BUT that doesn't mean we don't want sufficient time to play thru at least a season and enjoy your creations. But the REAL season is already 50 games in, in 3 more weeks it'll be another 15-20 at least, and yah, for the average guy playing a game in synchro with the real baseball season drives a LOT of the interest. Same reason why in September I'm thinking Madden & NHL.

So bashing guys cause they wanna get on with playing before they get to a period were the real MLB is done &/or other things take interest or time away is really unfair... we're not being selfish, whiny or ungrateful. Its just being honest and saying "Hey, can we get whatever u got now so we can play." That's it.

This post doesn't really matter as mods are gonna release it whenever they release it as a full package (which is their perogative) but I just had to say this stuff... cause this jumping down our throats for asking is really BS and does not make the rest of us feel welcome in expressing thoughts, opinions or suggestions in here. It makes us feel like not participating because we're not part of some elite clique of veteran posters or modders.

Anyway, no offense meant by this post... just expressing my opinion/feelings at the moment.... hope u can respect that and "take it with a grain of salt".... still looking forward to getting the full package.

Off topic so I'll make it brief.

A Tiger's logo and living in Charlotte, N.C. and a Cubs' logo and I'm living in Columbus, N.C.

We couldn't be trans-plants now, could we?

oh yes, a transplant from Northwest Ohio and have been following the Tigers since I was 6 or 7. Listened the WRJ in Detroit when I was a young lad when they were the official radio voice of the Tigers. I have stuck with them through thick and thin and look forward to and hope that the Motor City Kitties can keep it up. :)

My thoughts exactly.

You know I'd gladly do this and shut up if someone would give me a list of what is needed to constitute the Final package minus the portraits.

You know, I don't know exactly what else remains to be updated for the final 2006 mod other than new cyberfaces and the portraits. I released the MVP 06 theme so you guys (MVP 06 mod team) can throw that in there, and I'm pretty sure the 33 loading screens or I don't know how many there are, they'll be done eventually, if not before the mod is released. Other than those that stick out to me, I don't know what else there is to be done, but from what I can tell from all the other modders, it's a lot.

Mysterious,I understand where you come from. You consider those who are heavily working on the MVP 06 project to be "baseball nuts" as if we play this game in continuous fashion and play 12 seasons in one year or whatever it was. Well, the sole reason I play MVP Baseball continously as a modder is because I want my add-on to get extensive testing before they come out, so I don't get a gazillion threads related to the same mod. I'm pretty sure the MVP06 team would want to do the same when they finish developing the MVP 06 FINAL mod.

I don't consider reminding people to download the beta and update what you feel is needed for a real MVP experience "bashing", as those who need the bashing treatment are those who instead of requesting an update on the status of the MLB 06 mod, actually DEMAND that the mod be released citing the following:

...don't have time to wait.

...have to be done by a certain time so I can play other sims.

...egos are getting in the way of releasing what is complete.

...want to be done before school starts.

There's a difference between asking "When will the MVP06 mod go "gold", go "final", etc." and "I want this mod to come out regardless of it's development stage because of (reason, mostly those stated above)".

Again, for those of you who are wondering when will the final version be released, ask yourself: What would make the final version?

Start off with the MVP 06 Beta mod, and work your way from there. Download whatever stadium/roster/cyberface that's missing, and add on from there. Seriously. Whatever it is that will be included in the MVP06 Final mod will most likely be available to download seperately, or already is.

I'm already playing my dynasty and have downloaded stadiums, rosters, schedules, etc. etc. on my own without anyone even telling me to. Just seemed logical to me.

The 06Beta is great and the final will be awesome too. But, I figured that I won't need the final since I'm pretty satisfied with what I've downloaded myself.

Two questions for modders, however:

1) Isn't the updating of cyberfaces and, especially, portraits a never-ending thing to do, since players are changing hands all the time (trades, call-ups, waiver wire claims, etc.)?

2) Are you thinking of an MVP 2007 mod for next year? Or saying, "this is enough" and just updating files intermittently?

Great game, though, regardless.

You put up an updated beta now' date=' everyone and their dog will download it, then re-download the final all over again later.[/quote']

Not to mention that it will flood the server again. It is best to wait until everything is done.

If your worried about that, why not put it on filefront?

come one guys it's not that hard. If you are unable to get the mods to work yourself then be patient and wait till the big file comes out. If you don't want to wait then download all the mods seperately. It's no rocket science, the modders have made very clear readme's that will take you through the entire install process step by step. If you still can't get it to work, reply to that particular modder's thread or pm him.

and for all those that are waiting for this mod just because the dynasty starts in 2006 -- take a look at tywiggins' thread in the preview section (or announcements).

Sorry guys I must ramble and release some anxiety... I CANNOT wait

for the final! It is going to be awesome, I plan on starting my dynasty

immediatley and hosting it on dynasty manager, though I have never

done that before...has anyone used a dynasty host on the web? If so was

it hard to do? Was it worth it?
