WP: Jamie Moyer 1-0 (7ip, 7h, 3ER, 4k 1.90) LP: Barry Zito 0-1 (8ip, 11h, 4ER, 3HR, 5.54) Recap: The bats were at it agian, slugging 3 home runs for the 2nd straight game. Sexson, Beltre (AGIAN!) and Everett all went yard in tonights game. Can the Mariners rely on the long ball for much longer? Will Ichiro contiune to struggle (1-4, .217)? Notes Jamie Moyer was ejected in the 8th for hitting 2 batters during the game. Harden shuts down M's, Ichiro continues to struggle WP: Rich Harden 2-0 (7ip, 47h, 1ER, 1k 0.50) LP: Joel Piniero 1-1 (7ip, 6h, 3ER, 2.57) Recap: The Mariners offense was silenced by Oakland's Rich Harden, he threw 99mph fastballs and devastating splitters that killed the Mariners. Piniero pitched well into the 7th inning where he fatigued, however he struck out 6. Seattle does win the series 3-1. Exciting finish leaves Mariners with a victory WP: Rafael Soriano 1-0 (1ip, 1HR, ,1K, 3.00) LP: Guillermo Mota (1ip, 2h, 2ER, 18.00) Recap: The Mariners scored quickly on the indians and had solid pitching by Jarrod Washburn. Mike Hargrove was ejected in the 5th arguing a play at 2nd base. In the 8th inning the Mariners brought in reliable Soriano, who shut down the 1st 2 batters, but gave up a home run to Casey Blake. The Mariners had 2 outs in the top of the 9th when Adrian Beltre (4-4) singled. Kenji Johjima proceeded to hit the game winning home run off of Mota.
