sw3despills Posted May 28, 2006 Share Posted May 28, 2006 I play on All-Star with some really good sliders (for me) and halfway through the season I'm 6 games over .500. I was playing against the Nationals and it was scoreless through two innings (they had 4 hits, I had a few and a walk or two) and my 9th batter was up (Alex Cora). His home run started a 17 run inning that included 3 different pitchers and a couple of guys being hit by pitches in what was the strangest inning I've played. It seems so freaky that after a long time of playing difficult games, one inning would be so easy and monstrous. The rest of the game was pretty boring with only one more run scored and it just seemed like a twilight zone moment. What are the wierdest innings you've had? D-Unit Posted May 28, 2006 Share Posted May 28, 2006 in one game i was playing with the trenton thunder (yankees AA team) and i fanned 16 with philip hughes. a two hitter as well. and i forgot the guys name but he had three homers and seven RBI. i think the score was 14-0. Or my game that I quit in the 7th inning with the box score reading The computer really didn't want me winning that one. iansimcox Posted May 29, 2006 Share Posted May 29, 2006 Can't remember now heh. I'm pretty sure one of the errors was a drop in right field with 2 outs, bases loaded which cost me 2. Have got a feeling another error came the next pitch (I definately remember 2 errors in a row) which probably cost me another run. pdub Posted May 31, 2006 Share Posted May 31, 2006 A weird thing just happened to me, I have no idea what the cpu was doing. Tied at 1 in the bottom of the 11th, 1 out with my runners on 1st and 2nd. Jeff Kent hits a slow grounder down the first base line and the first baseman charges it and doesn't throw to first, instead he throws home. Their catcher holds it and I have the bases loaded for my created player who is the biggest power hitter by rating on my team. They bring the infield and the outfield in. I hit a fly ball that would have still won the game as a sac fly, but the outfield was in and it goes over the Rightfielders head for the game winning single. I was usually playing well, scoring 5-6 runs a game against good teams ... So I was playing in fenway and I had the best 1st inning since I'm playing that game. It was unreal. To start the inning game I hit 2 consecutive homeruns. The red sox pitcher was pitching fairly well, but I was just super hot In the first I scored 11 runs on 10 hits plus an error. I faced 4 different pitchers. I've even hit a grand slam with Floyd. Here is the boxscore with 2 outs (didn't score more runs). IIRC I won it 16-4 with around 10 homeruns (including the grand slam) Another strange inning I had was when I had a perfect game going into the 9th that I blew up with a walk off homerun allowed to Elizardo Ramirez (reds reliever).
