Mosselmaniac
Hi guys, great work you are doing here. i play the game for some time now, i have problems with stealing a bag myself. I take 2 steps (that's maximum?) and run on a change up or breaking ball. Then i go, but always gets thrown out. Not always, but very often. When the cpu does the same thing for me, Cano (my 2nd baseman) swipes the ball. I mean, he first gets him, then moves up, then tries to tag the runner, instead of doing that immediatly. that makes no sense and i think i __never__ made the tag. I make the catcher throw as hard as he can to second, not in the red though. What to do to catch these guys? And i'd like to play 1 season only, not the whole 120 years in dynasty. And with 1 team, not 4 (A,AA,AAA, MLBL) Only thing to do is just start the dynasty and play 1 season? Thanks in advance
snepp
Sliders User steal speed (+ makes the runner go faster) User steal delay (+ will make the runner delay longer before taking off) CPU steal speed (same as the user version) CPU steal delay (same as the user version) GL. Mosselmaniac
What are sliders, other then a pitch? And how to adjust it? And if i adjust it, is that fair for the gameplay? And what are the right values to play on? And what about the movement of the second baseman, it looks so strange. sometimes the ball is where it should be, and the 2nd baseman only has to apply the tag, but he comes up first... snepp
"Sliders" is a term used in sports gaming for the various settings in the game that can be adjusted to make it more realistic/enjoyable/both. To adjust them go into the "Gameplay Tuning" section of the options. The sliders can be adjusted individually for each difficulty level. If you adjust them too far it might end up being unrealistic, but definately not unfair. It's your game and you can play it however you like. That animation for the 2Bman is highly annoying. Mosselmaniac
But the animation of the 2nd basebam of the CPU tagging ME of, IS realistic.... And to what values i should put the sliders? In order to steal a bag, i mean, at least better then the way i do know, and have a possibility to throw the CPU out?
Mosselmaniac
By the way, i'm playing on MVP level, does that matter for the sliders? The MVP level is nice, i win and lose, it's so nice i have to be concentrated every play except for that stupid stealing. That ruins a part of my game. snepp
I don't know about MVP level, maybe you can find a set of sliders for that level. On All-star I use the following: User steal speed 2 CPU steal speed 0 User steal delay -3 CPU steal delay -
Mosselmaniac
is it fair that you have more speed then CPU then?
snepp
Actually, the +2 makes the speeds a little closer than if they were both at 0 (in my opinion, I haven't timed them). Keep in mind the sliders go up to +50 and down to -50, so a +2 is a very small change.
Mosselmaniac
and they are set in game? there is no download needed for them Thanks for your quick response man :)
snepp
Yes, they are set in-game, in the options.
D-Unit
i would put the user steal delay to -5 or -10, i have been playing on MVP level for a while now and it gives me good results, meaning you will get more stolen bases but you still can get caught. AcousticNut
I found that doing a head-first slide to the outside of the bag, drastically increases my steal success %. This is up and right on my joystick.
Mosselmaniac
I do the head first all the time, away from the ball, if you know what i mean. It's not the biggest problem that i can't steal a bag, i mean, i can do it like 1 in 5. but the CPU gets 5 out 5..... that annoys me.
