A question about controllers and binds

Is it possible to have two buttons do one action? For example if I wanted to have button 11 and button 1 be pushed simultaneously to do a pitchout.

If this is possible how would I do it in my controller.cfg file?

not to hijack the thread, but after answering pip07's question, could someone tell me if they are having these similar problems with the PS2 controller..my left analog stick is off with sliding and diving..is there a way to edit the diving and sliding directions..also, i can't seem to get the meter to full strength on pickoff attempts..these 2 things are really bothering me..thanks

pip, not sure I'm understanding the question. You already have to use two buttons to throw a pitchout.

cruecu, do you mean the right analog stick? Anyway, you can edit the controller.cfg to change them, by modifying the following.

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3

As for the pickoffs, it's no different then throwing to a base, just hold the botton down until you've hit the desired strength on the meter. Unless there's some other problem going on that you didn't mention.

yeah, the problem with pickoffs is that no matter how long you hold the button to make a stronger throw to first, it cuts it off about 30% through (resulting in a slow, weak attempt)...i've always played the game on ps2, and never had this problem until the 06 mod? I guess i'm the only one..weird

I've never had a problem throwing 100% on a pickoff, with or without the 06 mod. Except for when they get air-mailed into the stands. :)

Perhaps he means to change the 2 buttons that control the pitchout to two different buttons.

He says in the end... "If this is possible how would I do it in my controller.cfg file?"

Actually no, it seems that I just misunderstood how the config works. When I saw that pitchout = button 5 or whatever, I thought that would mean all you need to do is press 5 and nothing else for a pitchout.

I have since made my config how I like it execpt that my slides (like everyone else) are coming out weird
