Question from a new user

I am new to MVP Baseball 2005, having updated from MVP Baseball 2003. I LOVE the game, but find several flaws. It seems to me that there's an awfully quick hook for pitchers who get rattled in the early innings. It really throws the full season stats off. Mike Myers would never pitch 150 innings in a full season, for example. Is there some kind of fix for this, to make the game play more realistic? And, how do you install it?

My other question is: Is there a way to run the "Dynasty" in just "simple" mode, kinda like you did in MVP Baseball 2003? I'm not quite ready for all that depth just yet. All I'm looking for is a season mode that just deals with the MLB aspect. Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated!

Question 2, answer is no. I loved 2003 (never owned 04) for its simplicity. It was overwhelming for me as well. Don't worry, play one dynasty as a practice dynasty and then play your next one to be serious. That is how I got used to it.

Best advice I got "I don't even worry about my minor leagues, I only play the MLB game". This advice will help you. In your options, turn off your injuries so that it reads: MLB ONLY.

In your email filters, go through that to filter out crap you don't want to read so you can simplify your MLB dynasty.

Turn off Player Happiness so you don't have to worry about appeasing the multiple desires of your players.

Simplify this yourself and you will be happy.

Um, I can't answer your question because I'm not too sure but I just wanted to go off topic and comment about MVP 2003. I really miss how easy it used to be to hit/bean players and in lots of different ways. It seems limited now in MVP 2005 where you can only reliably hit players with automatic beaning buttons. Even so, when you auto-bean it usually only hits the elbows and hips. Some pitchers are incapable of hitting the other players without the auto-bean function. I miss just aiming away and intentionlly misusing the pitching meter when I can routinely hit players in the feet and head areas in MVP 2003.

In addition, if you put one player in every position spot...you can have a hit batter derby in MVP 2003. Just make sure the player ID's are identical and that single player you hit never goes to first base (unless you are playing against an NL team where there's at least one pitcher). Truly hillarious but unplayable after you get three outs (the game freezes)
