RedSoxMan
I just wanted to ask around and see what level of difficulty the majority is using. I know there are 4 levels, Rookie, [which is pretty much for the absolute beginner], Pro [i personally use this level, I find it to be the "medium" level], All-Star [for people who are looking for more of a challenge in their game], and of course, MVP [the hardest of hard]. I want to know what level you are playing on consistanly. Like what you play your dynastys on. I have a dynasty on Pro level, and Im currently 22-0 with my fantasy drafted CHI Sox. Hit me a reply and tell me what level your game is on. -RedSoxMan
FragStains
im playing my Red Sox dynasty on MVP mode. im 68-35, but ive been in a rut for the last 10 games going 3-7.
sfgiantsflgators
i use pro with sliders i've tweaked to fit my game. my winning percentage is usually .600-ish.
mrmariner
I play on AllStar, pro was to easy. At 22-0 I think you might want to jump to the next level, thats what I did when my record was like yours. It makes for better game play when you start to lose some games, like 5 in a row. As long as you are having fun thats all that matters.
tommyjay117
I play mine on mvp, going 22-0 is just so unrealistic, id think you get bored.
Roscosuper
I play on allstar, but I try to adjust the sliders to be similiar to mvp level. All except pitch speed. I just can't handle the pitch speed differential on mvp level. Too many 2-0, 3-1, 3-2 off speed breaking balls. I never seem to get a fastball when cpu pitchers fall behind in the count and I refuse to play with that hitters eye nonsense.
aaronuconn
I play on MVP. I have custom sliders, basicallt I lower my contact and HR down a lot.
RedSoxMan
Right, 22-0 is pretty crazy.. Did I mention Ive thrown 3 perfect games on Pro Level? Yeah, Im definately jumping up to All Star, or MVP.. Ive played around 130 games of MVP, so my game is definately ready to take a boost.. ixcuincle
Pro...although it seems like All-Pro or MVP with all the junk pitches the opponent throws.
cybernetic
I'm on All-Star right now but I have played on MVP just not recently and I'm slowly getting back my discipline at the plate once I get that and my pitching completely back to the level it was a year ago I'll be able to go back to MVP
JoeRudi26
All-Star My own custom sliders I'm 31-24 (2 games over Texas) in first place in the A.L. West. I played on Pro last year and finished 87-75 (lost to St. Louis 4-2 in the WS) but found it a bit too easy this year so I tweaked the sliders and moved it up to All-Star. bluenotebacker
I've been playing Pro, and I suck at this game! lol It's still fun, but man, I'm terrible at hitting and when pitching, I don't usually give up many hits, unless they're homeruns, and my starters seem to be in the 70% range of stamina by the 4th inning? What gives?
cybernetic
I'm pretty good at pitching the only reason I get high pitch counts is cuz I throw out of the zone a lot of with 2 strikes to get K's. My problem right now is hitting for the most part.. my pitching is a bit rusty too and I've been walking a few guys lately and giving up home runs. RedSoxMan
Ive pretty much mastered pitching on Pro.. As mentioned above, ive pitched 3 perfect games.. How many on here have pitched perfect games? -RedSoxMan
cybernetic
I've pitched 3 or 4 none recently I came close a few times though. I think 2 came on rookie and 1 on pro of the 3. I also threw a perfect game in MVP 04.
RedSoxMan
Right.. All 3 of mine were on Dynastys.. Ive had one with Josh Fogg, one with Brett Myers, and one with Derek Lowe.. All three were with not-so-good pitchers.. Ive gotten into the 7th with Johan Santana before, but I really havent been able to do as well with the more popular pitchers, go figure.. -RedSoxMan
maxbjr
I play on Pro level with maddiesdaddys datafile and a slightly altered version of Hoop27's sliders for allstat level. I can pitcher just fine but lack the hand eye coordenation for hitting at allstar level. Plus having a wife and working 40 hours a week doesn't allow me the time to get much better with pratice LOL. Maybe by the end of the 1st season I can move a up level :)
TheNemesis
I play on pro with sliders and datafile stuff from here. I tried a few games on all-star and got absolutely murdered. On pro I have a decent mix of all sorts of games (blowouts on both sides, tight games, extra innings, etc). I've never thrown a perfect game yet, but I do find that I'm a far better pitcher than I am a hitter. Closest I ever had to a perfect game was when I took one into the 8th with Roy Halladay in an exhibition game. I was playing the Nationals, and everything was fine until Church hit a grounder to 3rd and I accidentally jiggled the joystick and made Glaus miss the ball. Halladay finished with 8.0ip giving up 3 hits and a run (HR).
jxtuoleafs
MVP mode with original settings and 06 Mod. I find that if I'm messing with the sliders, my stats get unrealistic, and I feel like I'm almost cheating. However, if my game wasn't feeling right at any levels (as I'm sure many of you experienced) immediately, I would be changing the sliders. So what I mean is if you change the sliders, you're not cheating, after all, that's why they're there...but I personally feel like I'm cheating for some reason. Tidalwav90
right now Im waiting for the new mod. With the original 2005 I played on mvp mode with normal slider, i liked the settings the best like that. I usually won about 7 out of every 10 games, so it was fun
facetoface
I'm playing in PRO with custom sliders (pitching sliders are intact) options details: manual fielding no fielding aid no strike zone no hot/cold zones no hitters eyes manual back to bases 'cause I have these options cpu gets a lot of HR record 134-9 (this doesn't look real, but I fought hard for every win) longest streak 33 (still) perfect games 1 (mike mussina NYY) batting line up johnny damon LF derek jeter SS alex rodriguez 3B jason giambi 1B gary sheffield RF ken griffey jr CF sammy sosa DH alfonso soriano 2B jorge posada C pitching rotation (starters) randy johnson mike mussina bartolo colon tanyon sturtze kevin brown the most dificult for me is to get a stolen base. But I'm thinking to move to mvp (I've never played in this mode but always there is a first time) I hope to get a good record in mvp dificult, I know it's going to be hard. every body takes care!!! krawhitham
MVP with sliders at default except CPU ball rate it is at -
minmaster
the only problem i have at MVP is that the cpu throws way too many balls and i get way too many walks. so id rather play on all star and make it harder via slider adjustments. anyone else get walked too much on MVP? SESbb30
mvp. no sliders. 78-13.
brewdog
I play on Pro. I'm a terrible batter. So I swing at everything. When I try to be selective I take the strikes and swing at the balls out of the zone. Yep I'm terrible at batting. Pitching on the other hand, it seems, I'm doing too well at. Currently playing as the cubs I'm 22-6 so I'm trying to tweak my settings to even it out a little bit but can't seem to get the cpu to pitch more strikes so I'm stuck on that part of my tweaking cycle.
