Batting Styles

I was kinda wondering what strategy everyone uses to hit. I wait on the pitch and try to read where it is and swing. It has its ups and downs. I get a lot of singles but not many extra base hits. Also I wonder if anybody else has an extremely hard time watching pitches. It seems like I know the pitcher is going to walk me but I swing anyway, even pitchouts sometimes. Just wondering.

Patience is the key for me. I usually take a first ball strike, then try to wait until I see something I can drive. My extra base hits are pretty realistic depending (of course) on what pitch I hit. If it's up and in the middle of the plate, combined with type of pitch and timing, I can usually hit the gaps for a double. Depending on the park, if there's a deep route in the outfield and I have someone with speed, I can leg out a triple.

Sometimes I watch the pattern of pitches and am in a good situation to 'guess' on the pitch.

All in all, I average around 6-11 hits a game,

I have a style that works pretty well. Before each pitch, I aim the left analog stick in the pull direction (hold left for RH and right for LH) and then adjust to the pitch. If I'm looking for singles I aim the analog stick in the direction of the ball. If I need a home run I hold up and the pull direction and just wait for a pitch middle in.

I recently switched to MVP from All Star and I'm trying to play a little more small ball. Sac flys and bunts actually seem to be working but I still check swing and swing at balls a lot.
