maxbjr
I live in NYC and I've heard everyone but Sammy mentioned by the Yankees news people to add to the team.
peterosefan
Totte's got him playing for the Padres (in his latest ultimate rosters) that's why i was wondering. Thanks guys !
D-Unit
d-unit, do you believe the yankees will sign him, given their current amount of injuries? no. sosa wants a million dollar contract at least, and he doesnt deserve that with the severe decline his offense has taken. krazeekatcher7
no. sosa wants a million dollar contract at least, and he doesnt deserve that with the severe decline his offense has taken.ya, you are right. I had heard his name mentioned as a potential yankee but that was probably some national publication. Plus his ego is in the way, which was displayed when the nationals offered him a minor league contract with a chance to make the big-league team. Do any of you guys think he will sign with any team this year?
NYM
I actually heard of rumors of Abreu going to the Yankees. But then again, Micheal K said that, and well, can you really take anything he says seriously?
D-Unit
no....lol. i hate michael kay. the guy knows nothing about baseball, he never even played it.
BrooklynNets24
Miguel Cabrera is good enough he is doing amazing in the OF and he has 6 ast which leads the league...What i want to see is a replacement for Terrence Long
The_Jerk
I think you mean Melky Cabrera....the Yankees wish they had Miggy. And actually Soriano leads the league in outfield assists. But I don't see Sosa ever playing again. He took a big dive last year, probably due to the lack of juice, and the only ones who were willing to give him a shot in Spring Training were the Nationals, but he wanted too much cash. D-Unit
michael kay doesnt even know when its a home run. thats why he does the ssssssssssss-eeeeeeeeeeya! he tries to make it more dramatic and convincing. the only time i am sure kay knew when a homer was a homer was a rods 500+ foot homer last year. and when i watched this years season opener in oakland, i found one of my favorite announcers to be bobby murcer. when a rod hit that grand slam, the only thing you heard from murcer after the crack of the bat was "oh." he knew that one was gone. cruecu
i'm co-signing BrooklynNet's post..i like Kay's voice, and the SSSSSEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAA...Call me a *****-***, but i don't take my broadcasting that seriously...Just because you don't play a sport doesn't mean you can't be a very good broadcaster. We could go on and on with that list. Has Kornheiser ever played football? No, but i can't wait to hear him on MNF this year.
D-Unit
but im sure that broadcasters have not all played the sport they broadcast, but at least they dont try to act like they did. kay is a know it all, even though he doesnt know it all.
cruecu
especially when i've heard some really bad announcers with this MLB package. Trust me, Kay is not even close to the worst.
