Thats why I can't stand Italy. They are the biggest floppers in the World Cup.
no they're not

Portugal is...

And btw, what pissed Zidane off so much?

I love it how the Italian actor flys backwards after being headbutted in the chest. Interesting interpretation of physics.

lmao...

Zizou obviously lost it and I dont' condone his action, but at least he wasn't half-assed about it lol, it would make both Jason Statham & Jet Li proud.

My guess is the Italian player trash-talked him, still unexcusable & a sad way to end a brilliant career

Zidane is a scumbag, like the rest of the French squad. '98 was disgraceful, with the elbows to the face that were mysteriously never called, and their refusal to clear the ball out of bounds when an opponent was injured.

I love seeing the frogs lose it. And Zidane just ruined his legacy, as the leader of those jackasses.

how is he a scumbag? Its true he has a history of having temper tantrums, especially towards the French media, whom he refuses to deal with nowadays. But Zidane is a classy player who just didnt think. That and Thierry Henry

subbed out cost France the game.

Dont confuse the French government with the French footballers.

IMO, Italy played just as dirty (Zidane was bodyslammed earlier, which probably was why he lost it)

well said Jogar.

& while we're at it, can you also drop the racial stereotypes?

and btw, I don't think Zidane "ruined his legacy", nor was he leading a "group of jackasses" since they made it further than 30 other teams in this tournament...

Jogar, are you talking about when Cannavaro jumped over him and he got "hurt?" Watching the replay multiple times, there was no significant contact. Cannavaro leaped, maybe put a hand on his shoulder, headed it and then came down. I have no idea how Zidane "hurt" his arm on that play.

Must have missed them.

Unless you mean frogs? In which case get over yourself man.

The French are the frogs, and always will be. And it isnt racial anyway, unless they went off and started a new race which I wasnt aware of?

Probably the same way Henry "hurt" his face after being elbowed in the chest against Spain.

it's exactly what I said, a racial stereotype. Wouldn't make much sense if the commentators described the match as "frogs vs wops" would it? That's what stereotypes are...

grow up a little perhaps.

This World cup was the worst ever for diving and cheating. It was a disgrace - the worst Ive ever seen, and Ive been following football my whole life.

The sooner FIFA start introducing retrospective bans for deliberate cheating and diving the better. You cant blame the refs, when players are falling over like theyve been shot, without even being touched.

diving is a problem, but it does hurt when you get hit.

Just imagine if i took a hammer and hit you with it while you are running at full speed. The issue is with players trying waste time when they have the lead by embellishing injuries. But like fans blowing whistles, its become part of the game.

I also believe referees can give players yellow cards after the game. (after they have viewed video and have determined players diving)

Incredible that people like you take any opposition to people as being racially motivated, which really makes me sick. Should Zidane get a free pass for headbutting a guy in the chest because he's Algerian? What about when he stomped on that Saudi Arabian in the '98 World Cup, it's ok then too?

Or for the rest of that horrible French squad, what about in '98 when they were elbowing people in the face and refusing to clear the ball out of bounds when an opposition player was injured?

The french team are jackasses, plain and simple. They're the Oakland Raiders of futbol. And this is coming from someone with no real opinion on the french government or people. Their team, however, is classless.

And Kama, take your race baiting somewhere else, it's pathetic.

Grow up? You need to grow up and accept that there is a difference between racism, and calling a neighbouring country by an affectionate nickname. Im sure you feel your doing a public service, but, seriously, you can take this whole PC thing a bit far you know.

Stereotyping is linking a certain group of people with a certain behaviour due to there ethnicity.

Now, just to reiterate, we are not suggesting that French people are frogs.

Next you'll tell me to stop calling you a Yank.

Thats one problem. It does hurt when you get a tap on teh shins, so it is hard to do anything about that. But when - on a replay - it is clear that no contact was made, then FIFA should issue a one game ban for cheating. It would stop soon enough. If the refereees were stricter about injury time, then it wouldnt be a problem. They are supposed to stop the clock as soon as lpay stops for an injury. If this results in 10+ minutes of injury time at the end of the game, so be it, but again, it would soon stop the timewasting if teh players know they cant get away with it. At the moment, they know they can waste 10 minutes, and only get punished for 5 at the end.

I think you are right, but I've never seen it happen. If there is already an existing rule like this then it should be enforced.
