BrewCrew520
I've been looking around the site and forums to try to find some help on how to get started with MVP Edit but haven't found it and I'm getting kind of frustrated. I just downloaded it and have no idea how to do anything with it. What I would like to use it for is to add portraits to the game. If I could get any help here it would be very much appreciated, thanks.
JoeyMcM93
Most rosters include a .mbe file. Go in to MVPedit and say "open" on the toolbar. Find the .mbe file and open it. To add portraits click on the place where the portrait is or should be and find the portrait and alpha.

What folder is this file in because I looked in the MVP Baseball 2005 and there was no mbe file. I am using my own rosters though and have not downloaded anyone elses
JoeyMcM93
LOL Thanks. I have two really good ones, I can't decide which one to use! Medric822 and tommyjay both made me one. Now, back to topic. Did you get it BrewCrew520?

kgbaseball
The simple solution is this, which everyone that needs to get into roster editing absolutely needs to read. http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...ewtopic&t=12410
JoeyMcM93
Ahh the FAQ. He still needs to know how to add the portraits though.
kgbaseball
I've typed plenty of posts on how to do portraits, and so have many other people. Searching for them shouldn't be hard.
JoeyMcM93
I thougth you were using a new roster, but just read the FAQ and you'll get it. Sorry I missed that post, I was typing. Once you open the roster, you can add portraits by clicking on the portrait spot and findin you portrait and alpha.

kgbaseball
Like the FAQ says, you need a .mbe to start.
BrewCrew520
Like the FAQ says, you need a .mbe to start. I did everything the FAQ said and created a .mbe but it gives me the default rosters.
kgbaseball
Download a roster (either UR or Soriano's latest), and you'll have a .mbe
JoeyMcM93
Download a roster (either UR or Soriano's latest), and you'll have a .mbe Then do what I said and open the .mbe.
BrewCrew520
Download a roster (either UR or Soriano's latest), and you'll have a .mbe So basically you can't do it with your own rosters? The reason I wanted to use my rosters was because I had done a lot of work to the Brewers minor league teams and I did not want to lose that. If I have to download rosters then I'll do that though. Since you're a Brewer fan do you know which roster is best for brewers minor leaguers? With the living large rosters I had to create Gallardo, Wahpepah, Braun, Inman, and others.... JoeyMcM93
So you imported the data files and got nothing? Did you select the database folder when importing?
BrewCrew520
So you imported the data files and got nothing? Did you select the database folder when importing? I selected the database and it gave me the default rosters from living large.
JoeyMcM93
Do you have the roster you made in .sav format? As in you saved it in the game?
BrewCrew520
Do you have the roster you made in .sav format? As in you saved it in the game? Yes, I have the .sav file, it's in the MVP Baseball 2005 folder...
JoeyMcM93
Thats why. The .sav file isn't the database folder. MVPedit will not open a .sav file. If it's an in-game save MVPedit can't open it.
JoeyMcM93
In other words, it isn't your default roster.

Yeah, I know it wasn't the default roster, it's just the one I always use and wanted to use. Do you know the roster I can download with the most accurate minor league teams is? kgbaseball
Mine eventually, but for now you'll have to stick with UR.
JoeyMcM93
Ultimate Roster has minors, but a huge update is in the works right now. 6.5 is the newest one, so for minors I would use that. Right now all of the rosters are being worked on, UR, SS's, KG's, and tanner06's.
