MancrushOnNomar
First, is there a way to adjust your team's salary? I've been trying to work out a way to make the Phil Nevin for Jerry Hairston Jr. trade work, but it brings me over my payroll. Secondly, I installed MVP06 over a fresh install of 05. If I install the EA patch #3 will it work properly or will it freak out since the game is modded? Thanks ahead of time.
The Big Unit
Turn off budgets in your dynasty options. If the computer won't take the trade after that, turn off Fair Trades too. Don't know about #2.

big shmooz
Is there another way to get rid of the throwing lag without reinstalling, patching, then reinstalling the mod? Yes, if you have a second computer available. Install the game on it. Patch it. Then take the mvp2005.exe from the patched version & copy it to your old version thereby overwriting the original exe with the patched one. Think it'll work on 2 separate hard drives? If not I could probably install it on my laptop and use that .exe. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the idea! I don't think it'll work on 2 HD's but the laptop sounds like a good option :)

Thanks for the idea! I meant for you to make a temporary installation to not have to uninstall the game on your gaming computer. Then as I said, patch the game on the second computer (makes no difference if it's a laptop or not) in order to get the proper .exe file. Then just take it & make a copy of it. (or e-mail it to yourself) & install it on your gaming computer.
