ehhh
I just got the UR6.5+ update to work two days ago and simmed a season with the Yanks to play the post season. I never saw the following problem with 6.5 standard or any previous updates. In the ALDS I played the A's and Kirk Sarloos pitched in all three games and had an ERA over 18.00. The CPU would not take him out, no matter how bad I was hammering him. In Game 2 I was losing 7-2, Sarloos came in in the 6th and gave up a single, a 2-run HR to Sheff, then walked the bases loaded then Cano hit a bases-clearing double to tie the game. Still, Sarloos came back out to pitch the 7th and 8th innings and I ended up winning 11-8. By the end of the 6th inning he couldn't throw a breaking pitch for a strike, so I'd just wait for my 2-0 or 3-1 fastball and tee off. I figured this was a one time thing, but then the exact same situation happened with David Riske and Boston in the ALCS. Again, Boston blew a lead because they wouldn't take Riske out despite him giving up two 2-run homers in the same inning and having two pitchers fully warmed up in the bullpen. I beat Boston 4-2 to move on to the World Series, but the series at least would have gone 7 games and I probably would have lost if they had proper bullpen management. Has anyone else seen anything like this or have any recommondations for a fix?

I'm sure the issue comes from somewhere within the MVP engine...
maxbjr
The CPU has a bad habit of leaving pitchers in too long. I used to see starters left in the game until the 8th or 9th inning even when they were at 40 - 35% and had givin up several runs. I moved the sliders to 30 CPU pitcher fatigue and this helps some. cybernetic
A way to avoid this is to adjust the CPU pitcher fatigue rate and bullpen fatigue rate.. I put it at 30 so they don't throw more than 2-3 innings. But Saarloos is a starter they have as a long man.. it's really annoying the way the CPU optimizes rosters. I've seen them carry 9 starters on a major league roster before and then on their AA and A rosters it's all major league relievers in the rotation. cruecu
on that note..is there an easier way to set up pitchers and rosters after a fantasy draft..i had to go and hand-put everyone in last night...all call-ups and send downs to get it right...and every type of lineup (DH and no DH)...there has to be an easier way to do this..anybody know? cybernetic
Well you can use the positional rankings to help with the CPU optimizing but it doesn't do anything for pitchers.
cruecu
i thought cpu optimizing released your players and signed free agents available if they thought they were better than what you had
cybernetic
Well it does that as well sometimes
