krawhitham
Screw that, I want them to release utilities for this game...like what?
jhoff80
Preferably if they ever release a widescreen fix, it'll also allow for 16:9 monitors, as opposed to the 16:10 computer monitor resolutions that some games only support. I have a nice new 1080p monitor coming, and would love for MVP to fill that up.
thr33niL
Kraw explained it over in this thread, hope that helps. Thanks a ton, 5 (and kraw). Real nice fix-
HarleyRider
Thanks a ton, 5 (and kraw). Real nice fix- That doesn't work for widescreens. If you use it for widescreen all it does is "stretch" the screen out and it looks distorted. IMO I suggest using the 1600x1200 x32 fix for 4:3 aspect. The picture is alot sharper and clearer but be sure your system can handle it. Go here to read more about it: http://mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=21296 Cheers!!!

krawhitham
I replaced a bunch of the 4:3 references in the exe with 16:9 with no luck. I looked through the xbe and there were only two references to 16:9, which also appear in the pc version. In case others are wondering I searched for the strings: 04 00 00 00 03 00 (4:3) 10 00 00 00 09 00 (16:9) Pretty sure that I did the little endian conversion right and everything. There was one 10 00 00 00 0a 00 (16:10) reference in the xbe, but none in the exe and I'm pretty tapped out as to new ideas. Did that and forced the game to use 1280x720, I even used the datafile.big from the xbox and still no luck the Xbox XBE has the word "WidescreenMode" in it and the EXE does not I'm about out of ideas, I also noticed that in the fonts folder on the xbox version there is a file called "widescrn.big" Xbox also has wstad.big & wbkgnds.big here is a sample from wbkgnds.big & bkgnds.big
krawhitham
We could resample all the textures in the game so they looked normal when stretched in widescreen mode
pdub
That wouldn't work with the models though, we would have to stretch every model vertically or squash their width/depth. I'm not that worried about stadium models, but the players. If we could do it to the player models, it could be satisfactory. Even then, it would look funny when a player is horizontal, like they were really skinny or long, but I would only consider it a side effect. We should really hound EA's *** like everyday, every person who wants a widescreen fix. We should say if the xbox version can support it, why not the pc? Call them multiple times a day, email them from multiple email addresses everyday, etc. They could just make a patch that modifies each camera view's "fov" in the datafile into two seperate fov's, one for height and one for width, or even just add an aspect ratio variable to them, we would have our fix. Thanks for your deep investigating into the xbox version, krawhitham.
krawhitham
I do not think EA can legally release any more updates for the game
