Tomackze
This is usefull tips i realized while using the keyboard. 1. Whenever you press 0 and then the keys u used for throwing to the base you will throw to that base (pickoff) - i dont know how to control the meter so if someone can tell me that, thanks a lot. 2. whenever you press 0 and the buttons for intentional walk and hit batter u hit them 3. i think that pressing the shift buttons are supposed to make them slide but i haven't gotten that to work, EVER... they slide on their own 4. You must use the arrows with numbers on your keyboard to aim... the arrows that are under the delete, end, and page down function aren't used to aim while pitching or hitting... when i think of more i will post more. Please dont delete this thread, it will help players using the keyboard

Then again, anything is better than keyboard with this game
JoeyMcM93
Here's my thoughts: Keyboards don't give you near as much control. If you really like that game you're playing, invest in a controller.
stcardinal
I play on the keyboard and I've pretty much mastered the controls for both batting and pitching. "" and the arrows is to move the batter Hold down "0" and page up or page down to walk/hit batter Arrow keys and + are different types of pitches Hold down "0" and right arrow is to pick, I think if you hold down "shift"+"0"+"right arrow" you can throw a faster pick off. Not sure about this, but I've have more success picking batters off. To pitch outside hold down "shift" the numpad arrows and arrows. For example if you want to pitch way off outside, hold down "shift"+6+right arrow and you'll throw outside If you want to do sick corner pitches you do the same, but instead of pressing down at the green section, you want to press it at the brown. You can also control it so you don't throw way out of the strike zone. For example when I want to throw a fastball that's down middle but a mm away from being off the plate, I would hold down "2" and press down arrow (cause that's my fastball) and press it at the brown once it passes the green. (brown)(green)(brown) ...........................|.................. You'd want to press it there and it's a 90% strike. Do that with a sinker and you can easily strike a lot out. bigj7489
Here's a question. From what I've gathered over the years, to take a power or fly ball swing you hold down numpad8 while swinging. Problem is this makes the runner on first try to steal 2nd. Any way around this, am I doing it wrong?

RmembrZito75
Can you actually use the keyboard to get the pitch exactly where you want? Instead of pressing shift?

MarkB
You can buy a converter to connect the controller to your PC via USB. I got mine from a local game store, you can probably get one from Radio Shack or EBGames. Shouldn't cost more than 10 or 20 bucks, if that - I got mine for something like £5. braves45
UncleMo created a download that will let you do everything with your keyboard that you can with a PS2 controller, including slide, railroad the catcher, etc. It might take a little bit to familiarize yourself with the controls but it is worth it. conception
How do I use a PS2 controller with the PC? There's really no need to get a convertor, there are plenty of controllers very similar to a playstation controller that can be picked up for extremely cheap. I've gotten several fine USB controllers at Walmart that have roughly the same button package as a PS2 controller would. I wouldn't play a sports game without it, the thought of using a keyboard makes me shudder.
HardcoreLegend
Anyone know how to railroad the catcher with a 360 controller? All Lou Brock ever wants to do is slide...which is ironic, really.

The 360 Controller is almost identical to the PS2 controller (the left analog and directional pad are switched) and it just plugs into the USB port. Nice, I have both the PS3 and the 360. Is there a driver or something needed so the cpu recognizes the controller?
