adembroski
This is insane... all of the sudden, out of nowhere, I cant pitch. I could pitch just fine before, now I'm getting shelled. Game in, game out. I'm using the Red Sox, I have only 1 pitcher with an ERA under 4 (Curt Schilling, 3.89), I have 3 pitchers with ERAs at 7.00 or above (Including David Wells, who is at 12.52). In 30 games I've given up 10 or more runs 10 times, and less than 5 only twice. I have changed nothing about how I pitch, my sliders, nothing. Since I put the MLB 2006 update in, I'm getting absolutely shelled like mad. I have gone so far as to lower CPU Batting Contact to -50... since I did that, I have not gotten out of the 3rd inning having given up less than 5 runs. MarkB
The datafile was changed for the '06 mod, so you might want to try reverting back to the stock '05 datafile.
snepp
--> Pitch meter difficulty slider <-- The datafile included with the 06 mod is considerably more difficult to pitch with, increase that slider until you're happy with the results. Slowly lower it as you get used to the meter.

I've got everything in favor of HUM pitcher and against CPU batter, I'm giving up base hit after base hit. It's just uncanny.

IloveJeter
#1 - Use Hoops Sliders #2- Are you playing a dynasty? ( does your team hate you?) #3 - Variable Pitching can occasionally screw you hard, but not for that many games in a row....you wouldn't think. adembroski
Okay, apparently all I had to do was whine. 4 games after posting this, here's my team line... 42 IP, 11 ER (2.36ERA), 33K, 2BB Unfortunately, despite all that, 1-3, because NOW I CAN'T HIT:P Well, I'm hitting okay, just not in clutch situations. I'm not stringing together hits. I had Keith Foulk just rip through Baltimore for 5 innings after blowing the save, but then he tired and I had to bring in a poor lefty because BoSox don't have much for lefties. Infield hit by Tejada, then a gapper by Lopez to score him from 1st on the double. Clement took a no hitter into the 6th in that game too:(

Yeah, catch 22... my pitching sucks, I'm losing far more games than Boston should lose, which makes my pitching even worse, so I can't get out of the funk. Needs some Yankee wins. 3. I was wondering about that, what's the consensus, should that remain on or off?
tywiggins
adembroski, maybe you changed your difficulty level. If you're on MVP Difficulty try moving down to All-Star. If you're on All-Star try moving down to Pro.

If you're on All-Star try moving down to Pro. I don't know that that's the answer simply because I've been playing at the level I'm at since I got the game (the day it was released). Seems like I just pulled a Knoblouch and forgot how to play or something:(
